2022- 2023 ANNUAL REPORT
FAITH. FAMILY. FUTURE.

A LETTER FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL

We are excited to share the 2021-2022 Annual Report with our parents, alumni, and friends. This is a simple way to say THANK YOU for your commitment to CHCA while providing a glimpse of how your giving has made a remarkable impact on our school.

The Legacy Fund was created in 2016 to provide a way for our stakeholders to give beyond tuition dollars to Cottage Hill Christian Academy. We are humbled to announce that our community sacrificially gave the largest total amount given in an academic calendar in 21-22. Your generosity makes it possible to provide the tools our students need to reach their God-given potential in every pillar of the educational journey; academically, artistically, athletically, and spiritually. Our purpose is to produce students who will become servant leaders who will impact the world for Christ. Our motto is Faith-Family-Future, and the Legacy Fund allows us to see our students grow in their FAITH, in a FAMILY atmosphere, while preparing them for the FUTURE.

We are grateful for your generosity and your willingness to invest in our future is overwhelming! Thank you for choosing to partner with CHCA. We look forward to keeping the mission, expanding the vision, and taking the next steps in demonstrating Warrior Pr1de in all we do, together!

GREENOUGH GARDEN

In 2021, there was a dream to honor the legacy of Mrs. Fran Greenough who faithfully served the Cottage Hill Community for 29 years. Mrs. Fran Greenough dedicated her professional career to not only preparing students for college but to the development of students’ personal character and spiritual development.

To know Fran Greenough, you must know that she believes in the power of prayer. In August, the day prior to the opening of school for this academic calendar, this was the site for our student led, inaugural senior sunrise service. Students from the class of 2023 came at sunrise for a time of worship and prayer. This area has also been used as an outdoor classroom space, gathering spot, and a place to take our cares and concerns before the Lord.

On September 18, 2022, we gathered as the Warrior Family and dedicated this space. We are grateful to have this space on campus in honor of Mrs. Greenough and her service to the Academy.

DRIVERS EDUCATION

For the first time ever, Cottage Hill Christian Academy offers Driver’s education on campus! We know this class will provide great educational opportunities to our students. We are extremely thankful for our partnership with Jason Pilger Chevrolet Atmore, Alabama and their support of Cottage Hill!

NEW WEST CAMPUS ROOF

Because of the generosity of Legacy Fund Donors, CHCA is able to contiue to make improvements and invest in our facilities. One of these improvements was a new roof for our West Campus.

HVAC OVERHAUL

Another improvement made to our facilities was a new chiller for our Church Campus and a toal overhaul of the HVAC systems on our West Campus.

MCFADDEN PAVILION TURF

This spring, we were able to compete the McFadden Pavilion Project on the West Campus by installing artificial turf. This green space is a great place for our students to enjoy community with eachother during outdoor lunches and classroom opportunites.

TECHNOLOGY UPGRADES

As of this year, Cottage Hill Christian Academy now offers 1:1 technology program for all students 5th-12th grade. This program allows every student to have access to their own personal laptop to complete assignments, reasearch, and engage with classmates and teachers during many other interactive excercises. Each teacher also aquired a new iPad to enhance teaching abilities and connect to their brand new smartboard. Smartboards allow teachers to educate using multiple learning styles and encourage student engagement. We are blessed to have the opportunity to implement these technology upgrades in every classroom.

EEC FLOOR

This summer, we had the opportunity to renovate our EEC spaces by replacing all the flooring in the halls and classrooms. This provides a cleaner and safer environment for our students 6 weeks - 2 years old to learn and devlop.

GRAVEL PARKING LOT EXPANSION

The West Campus expanded the gravel parking lot. This allows us the opportunity to provide more parking for our students, sporting events, and other school related functions.

WEST CAMPUS GATES

At Cottage Hill Christian Academy, the safety of our students is a top priority. Installing security gates on our West Campus was a big step in providing the safest educational experience for our students.

PRESCHOOL PLAYGROUND

We were excited to purchase new outdoor playhouses and climbers for our outdoor preschool playground.
