COTTAGE HILL CHRISTIAN ACADEMY

MOVING FORWARD TOGETHER FOR THE NEXT GENERATION.
MOVING FORWARD TOGETHER FOR THE NEXT GENERATION.
In 1961, members of Cottage Hill Baptist Church saw the need for Christian education in Mobile. That fall, they opened Cottage Hill Baptist School with a kindergarten and first grade class. The vision was clear from the start: to provide students with an education grounded in the truth of God’s Word.
Over the decades, that small beginning grew into what we now know as Cottage Hill Christian Academy, a thriving K–12 school serving hundreds of students across two campuses. From the early days on Cottage Hill Road, to the opening of our high school campus in 1999, to the strong academic and extracurricular programs we offer today, God’s faithfulness has been evident in every chapter of our story.
Our mission has remained steadfast:
• Faith – Keeping Christ at the center of every lesson, activity, and decision.
• Family – Creating a warm, supportive environment where every student is known and valued.
• Future – Preparing students academically, spiritually, and socially for the path God has prepared for them.
Today, with more than six decades of momentum, we are poised to take the next bold step in our history.
Cottage Hill Christian Academy is experiencing consistent growth, with students thriving in their academics, athletics, fine arts, and spiritual formation. Yet, as enrollment grows and programs expand, our facilities have reached their limits.
The layout of our church campus classrooms is inefficient. Hallways and movement patterns are not optimal for student safety and teacher collaboration. We lack dedicated spaces for specialized classes like performing arts and STEM, and our outdoor spaces could better serve both students and families.
FORWARD is our answer to these challenges. It’s more than a construction plan, it’s a commitment to providing:
• Safe, secure learning environments that give families peace of mind.
• Modern, flexible classrooms that inspire creativity and collaboration.
• Specialized spaces for arts, technology, science, and athletics.
• Welcoming gathering spaces for school and community events.
Now is the time to act. Our students’ needs are growing, and so must we.
FORWARD is more than a building campaign - it is a bold step of faith for the future of our students and the next generation of Warriors.
- Mr. Chris Brazell
Through the FORWARD campaign, we will transform our campus in four carefully planned phases, ensuring each improvement meets the long-term needs of our students.
5000 BUILDING FIRST FLOOR DRAWING
PHASE 1
• Church Campus
5000 BUILDING SECOND FLOOR DRAWING
• Remodel of the 5000 Building – Expanding from 6 to 18 classrooms, grouping grade levels for collaboration, and adding enclosed hallways for enhanced security.
• Covered Drive-Thru and Commons Entrance – An “airport-style” canopy will provide a safe, weather-protected drop-off and pick-up zone, reducing congestion and increasing safety.
• West Campus
• Security fencing along the wood line and entrance to Charles V. Lang Stadium, plus courtyard upgrades including pavilion extensions, artificial turf, and additional seating.
FENCING & COURTYARD UPDATES ON WEST CAMPUS
• Remodel of the 4000 and 6000 Buildings – Coordinated updates to create fully enclosed corridors, additional classrooms, and secure access to all spaces.
• Specialized Classrooms – Dedicated areas for performing arts, athletic locker rooms, fine arts, and STEM-focused learning labs.
• Library, Science, and Technology Spaces – Modernized facilities designed to spark curiosity and innovation.
• Main Entry Atrium and Plaza – A distinct, welcoming entrance that clearly defines the school from the church and offers safe, secure gathering space.
WHY IS THIS PROJECT CALLED FORWARD?
The project is called Forward because God has given Cottage Hill Christian Academy leadership vision to move the school FORWARD as we continue to prepare students for excellence as life-long disciples.
WHY IS THIS CAMPAIGN NECESSARY?
Our students are thriving, but our current facilities limit growth and opportunities. FORWARD will create safe, modern, and collaborative spaces that better serve our students, support specialized programs, and prepare them for the future.
HOW MUCH IS THIS GOING TO COST?
Phase 1 of this project will cost us a totally of $3 million over the course of three years.
WHAT WILL COTTAGE HILL BAPTIST CHURCH’S ROLE BE IN FORWARD?
CHBC will be coming alongside Cottage Hill Christian Academy in the fundraising efforts and conducting their own capital campaign to help with the enhancement of the 5000 Building.
WHEN DO WE EXPECT TO BEGIN THESE PROJECTS?
We plan to begin work on some of the projects in the first half of 2026. The more funds we are able to receive early, the faster we can move forward.
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
Gifts and pledges will be collected starting September 2025, with a goal of securing all $3 million in pledges by the end of 2025. Pledges can be fulfilled through December 2028. You can give online or by completing a FORWARD commitment card, which lets you indicate your total gift over the next three years and your giving method (checks, stock, etc.). Should your circumstances change, you are able to change your commitment in the future. Commitment cards help our team plan and steward resources wisely by giving us a clearer picture of when funds will be available and how they can be applied to construction projects.
WHAT IS MY PART?
BEGIN PRAYING: Would you be prayerfully considering what God might be calling you to give up during these next three years to allow you to give more to His school through the work of Cottage Hill.
COMMIT FULLY: Help us reach our goal of 100% participation.
GIVE GENEROUSLY: The challenge is a large one. Is God calling you to grow spiritually and deepen your trust? What steps might He be asking you to take to help bring this project to life? Even with the large task at hand, it is possible for us to move FORWARD. Every commitment makes a difference.
EVERY GIFT AND EVERY GIVER MAKES A DIFFERENCE.
With God’s blessing, our goal is to raise $3 million toward Phase 1 by the fall of 2028. Achieving this goal will require the generosity and commitment of our entire Cottage Hill community.
Below is a chart outlining the gift ranges necessary to reach our $3M goal for Phase 1.
Commitment week will be the week of September 21, during our 2025 Homecoming week. That week, and the days leading up to it, will be filled with fun activities for students and adults, highlighting our amazing community and giving everyone a chance to participate in FORWARD. We ask that you begin praying now about the role the Lord might have you and your family play in this campaign.
Regardless the amount of your gift, every contribution makes a difference. Help leave a legacy that will impact generations of Warriors.
We invite you to step forward with us through your prayers, your giving, and your advocacy for the mission of Cottage Hill Christian Academy. Together, we will provide the spaces and resources needed to equip Warriors for generations to come.
Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Proverbs 4:25-26
