Fresh looks abound for 2018 Hyundai models The Chatham Voice
Hyundai’s engineers just might be considered automotive surgeons this year. They’ve enhanced many of their models for 2018, with some receiving a facelift, while others have all-new design features. “Almost all of our vehicles will receive a facelift or redesign this year,” Jeremy Derksen, sales consultant with Van Kesteren Hyundai, said. “There are tons of improvements at Hyundai.” Those include a facelift for the dependable Hyundai Tucson, and complete redesigns for the stylish Sonata, the compact Accent, sporty Veloster and the rugged Santa Fe.
Van Kesteren Hyundai is excited for the new Santa Fe to be revealed later this summer, and the SUV is one of the dealership’s best sellers. The all-new 2018 Sonata just came out in late 2017. The sedan received a new body design and a host of new technological advances. 2018 Wrangler stays true to its roots The Chatham Voice
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL may be the product of a strong redesign, but it certainly stays close to its iconic roots. Mike Hogue, gener-
al manager at Chatham Chrysler, said the company is celebrating 77 years of Jeeps, dating back to 1941 when the utility 4x4 started serving the needs of the U.S. Army. A great deal has changed

It’s popular with avid Jeep fans. The locking axels put the power where it’s needed most,” Hogue said. The Wrangler exudes enjoyment, whatever the season. “It’s a fun vehicle. Mike Weber, general manager at Lally Kia on Richmond Street, said the red Stinger parked in front of the dealership is an attention grabber. And with good reason. “I’ve been super excited about this car. I love a sedan with some power. This vehicle has it all,” Weber said of the Stinger, which has sleek lines reminiscent of European luxury sports sedans. Only, the Stinger won’t sting your wallet. The top-of-the-line version of the all-wheel drive sports sedan, with dual-turbo 365-horsepower 3.3-litre engine, is priced under $50,000, much less than comparable European models. “This car has features you’ll find in BMWs and Audis priced tens of thousands of dollars more,” Weber said. “The Stinger offers incredible value with some great,
great features. It’s an incredible vehicle.” Did we mention its versatility? It’s a four-door, with a hatchback, meaning there’s room for five, and plenty of space for baggage, with easy access. “From a golfer’s perspective, it’s easy to get your clubs in and out,” Weber said, something that is made even easier with the power tailgate. “You just pop it and it lifts right up. heads-up display (where important information is displayed right on the windshield). Your eyes are always focused out in front of you.” The Stinger is just the latest in head-turning rides from Kia. The company offers quality at a reasonable price. “The big thing about Kia is that it is not a company that builds cheap cars. It has won the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study for the past two years running,” Weber said. “This is the new Kia per se in terms of putting out high-quality, well-priced vehicles.” He added the company is more concerned with placing the needs of the customer first. “We’re not looking to sell cars, we’re looking to gain customers,” Weber said. “We just want an opportunity to showcase the Kia lineup.”

Accord impresses yet again The Chatham Voice
Some fear the future. Others drive it. Many of those “others” are behind the wheel of a Honda Accord. The All New 2018 Accord is the North American Car of the Year, and the 2018 Car of the Year, as chosen by members of the Association of Canadian Automobile Journalists (AJAC). Todd Bennett, general manager at Honda House in Chatham, said winning awards is what the Honda Accord does. “I don’t know if there is a car that has won more awards,” he said. “It’s been in Car & Driver’s Top 10 a total of 32 times. It’s an impressive car.”
The 2018 has it all, sleek design, fuel economy, performance, and technological advancements. “The car was completely redesigned this year. It wasn’t a refresh. They did everything right,” Bennett said. “For starters, they made the interior space a bit bigger without making the car that much bigger, and there’s lots of space in the trunk.” Honda also paid close attention to safety features, Bennett said. to dominate the segment, but they always keep in mind safety and performance and fuel economy,” he said. “This car gets great gas mileage and still has lots of power. It’s the drivability. You can feel the difference.”
In terms of new technology, the 2018 Accord features brake mitigation, lane keeping, blind spot monitoring, and even blind spot sensing. “They’re pretty advanced. A lot of cars will tell you to stop; this car
