ESCAPE TO ANOTHER WORLD In a world that often feels cluttered and chaotic, finding a place of tranquility can feel like a luxury beyond measure. And yet, nestled among the golden-barked acacia trees on the shores of Lake Elmenteita just an hour from nairobi lies a little slice of paradise that offers just that. Inka Gardens is a truly magical setting that blends the modern comforts of a premium facility with the rich biodiversity and culture for which Kenya's Rift Valley is famous. As I drove down the winding road to Inka Gardens, the stunning scenery of the surrounding area left me breathless. The famous Sleeping Warrior mountain towered in the distance, while the flamingo-filled Lake Elmenteita shimmered in the sunlight. It was a tranquil oasis, and one that I was eager to explore. The camp itself is small and immaculately maintained, with three luxury safari tents that offer the ultimate glamping experience. The queen size beds with plush beddings and the well-appointed bathrooms with hot water made it easy to forget that I was camping, while the spacious verandas with cast iron fireplaces were the perfect place to unwind after a day of adventure.
Speaking of adventure, the activities at Inka Gardens are varied and exciting. The easy, undisturbed treks in the beautiful bush around the lake offer the perfect opportunity to immerse oneself in nature, and if bird watching is your thing, you are in for a treat. With over 400 bird species and flocks of flamingos to admire, it's easy to spend hours just taking in the stunning natural beauty. But it's the dining experience at Inka Gardens that truly sets it apart. While meals are arranged on a guest by guest basis with the kitchen, the food is absolutely incredible. The chefs expertly prepare local cuisine that is both delicious and beautifully presented. And for those who prefer to bring their own groceries, the kitchen is happy to accommodate and prepare your meals according to your preferences. i however came prepared to do my own meals, the camp provided a very cool hob station for me to use, It was a truly unforgettable experience, with the sun setting over the lake as I dined under the stars. The warm hospitality of the staff at Inka Gardens only added to the magic of the evening, and I found myself wishing that I could stay forever. In life we are often connected and reachable 24/7, constantly bombarded by noise and distractions, Inka Gardens Elmenteita offers a rare opportunity to pause and connect with nature. It's a place where you too can escape the stresses of everyday life and immerse yourself in the tranquility and beauty of the natural world. For anyone in search of a peaceful and unforgettable getaway, Inka Gardens is a must-visit destination.

The epitome of luxury in the African wilderness can be found in the heart of Kenya's Rift Valley at Inka Gardens Elmenteita. The highlight of this enchanting getaway is the three plush safari tents that offer unrivaled comfort and luxury in the wild. Each tent is designed to provide an immersive experience of the surrounding bush and awesome views of the pink lake, while offering all the amenities and modern conveniences that one would expect from a premium accommodation. The interiors of the tents are tastefully decorated with African art and decor, lending an air of authenticity to the experience. The queen-sized beds are adorned with soft beddings and linens that guarantee a comfortable nights rest after a day of exploring the wilderness. The tents feature en-suite bathrooms with hot water showers and flushing toilets, ensuring that guests can freshen up in style. The spacious verandas fronting the tents offer ample seating to lounge and take in the breathtaking vistas.
Glamping The highlight of the tents, however, is the cast iron fireplace, which provides warmth and ambiance on cool evenings. The flickering flames of the fire, coupled with the sounds of the wild, make for an unforgettable experience that is sure to leave guests feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. The tents are also equipped with solarwater heating and charging points, ensuring that my camera stayed charged and my phone connected though i did not have much use for it while at inka. The attention to detail and commitment to luxury at Inka Gardens Elmenteita extends beyond the tents themselves. With its expansive lawn and beautiful flowers, you would be forgiven for losing all sense of time in this oasis.

A WORD IN YOUR EAR The Rift Valley is undoubtedly one of the most picturesque and fascinating regions in Kenya. The region is home to some of Kenya's most famous dishes, including nyama choma (roasted meat), ugali (a type of maize meal), and mukimo (mashed potatoes mixed with vegetables). Visitors can enjoy these dishes at local restaurants or even join the locals in preparing them.
