IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s to Honour late Chase Resident

ver 600,000 Canadians currently live with dementia. By 2050, nearly 2 million people living in Canada could be living with dementia. Two-in-three of us know someone living with or has lived with dementia. Our vision of a world without dementia is a world where people living with this disease and their loved ones are welcomed, acknowledged and included. Funds raised through this walk ensure that families have access to support and information as well as enabling research into causes and cures. This year we have chosen to honour late Chase resident Bill Urquhart. Sadly, Bill passed away January 15 of this year. Bill was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in July of 2011. He and his wife Darlene took 6 months before telling family and friends the news, after getting used to their new reality. When Bill heard the news about the 2012 Alzheimer’s walk in Kamloops, he immediately decided he needed to get involved and be a part of the solution. He started raising money in our community by going door to door and setting up in
