Special Event for Grads submitted by Alison Lauzon

O

n Thursday June 18th, starting around 7pm there will be a Chase Grad 2020 Show & Shine Parade. Members of local area car clubs, and local area car enthusiasts will be coming out to support the Chase Secondary School Grads of 2020. The parade will be similar to the previous weekly frontline worker parade. The cars, escorted by local RCMP, will travel all over Chase, showcasing the Grads, in addition to the opportunity to show off their cars. The parade will start at the high school, after the Grads have had the opportunity to Grand March around the outside of the school, while maintaining social distancing. The parade will end at the Arena, where the Grads, while still maintaining social distancing, will go out to the high school field, and a have the opportunity to "toss" their grad caps. We are encouraging people to stay home, and await the arrival of the procession of Grads. Those attending from outside of Chase, are asked to maintain social distancing.

Unfortunately some people don’t seem to understand that is a Loaner program. The attached pictures were taken

two days apart, one showing 6 life jackets, the other only 3 life jackets. This project is designed to save lives so we really need people to respect this and return the life jackets before they leave the park. Richard Waugh, Chase Rotary Club

THOUGHTS ON HOLLAND TRIBUTE Dear Editor, Thank you to the Chase Legion for the thoughtful tribute to the women and men like my husband’s Uncle Buddy Mercer who sacrificed their lives for folks like my family. In 1955 we were able to come from Holland to this wonderful country of Canada

which would never have been possible without them. My parents always instilled in us a deep gratitude for Canadians and we are proud citizens of this country. We in turn are telling their story to our children and grandchildren. With thanks and gratitude, Cathy Moore
