Other Notes: The King's Premium plates were established after the Boer War (18991902). After the war, England experienced a severe shortage of horses. To encourage horse breeding, these Premiums were established. It eventually evolved into the Hunter's Improvement Society, with another storage after WWI (1914-1918). With the advent of automobiles, the group finally became the Sport Horse Breeding Society to strengthen international trade in competition horses.
