01 Showroom Cinema Sheffield Brief
January 2026 Live Project with The Showroom Cinema and Workspace, Sheffield. To create a “bar for everyone”, with a diverse range of users, providing a space for mothers and babies, families, over 55s, professionals, and creatives. The client asked for increased appeal to a younger crowd, offering a place for students to study, eat, and drink. The client also mentioned their dislike for the current colour scheme, and that they felt the space was too dark. For my redesign, I presented the clients with two proposals, a redesign of the existing bar space, and a renovation of a new open plan bar and box office.

02 Hiker’s hostel + restaurant Brief
September 2025 project repurposing The Green Room pub, Sheffield, into a hostel that facilitates travellers on a budget, and a restaurant that serves experimental vegan food. I researched into veganism and it’s effects on the environment, and speculated about the potential future of food made from mycelium (mushroom) meat due to it being a regenerative food source, high in nutritional value, and cost effective. This project investigated the differences in shared and private space, therefore I explored using contrasting materials (hard and soft) to zone the space. I also designed a bold exterior facade to intrigue potential customers passing by on the street.

concept Restaurant Tactile, explorative environment Lampshades inspired by mushrooms Main restaurant (communal and educational) has hard materials (terrazzo floor, wooden seating). Private, secluded dining has soft materials (sheer curtains, dense carpet, soft seating). Hostel Maps, grid lines, hiking trails, natural environment Terrazzo floors and grid layouts in shared environments. Dense carpet, blackout curtains, personal lighting provide comfort and privacy in the bedrooms.

Elevation Drawing
My contribution to the project was designing the hot-desks space for visitors to sit and work from their laptops. The scheme needed to utilise Ikea’s scandinavian modern furniture, and our chosen green, blue, and light wood aesthetic. To make the space energetic and playful in an Ikea style, I used the graphic leaf pattern from their “UNDERBLOMMA” cushion to create transparent vinyl stickers on the floor and window that filter sunlight through them.
