Her mission is threefold: to provide safe, sustainable, and affordable homes for workingclass families, to create communities that uplift those families, and to connect people with the resources they need to succeed. One day, she dreams of developing a mixed-use project that embodies these values, symbolizing her journey from dreamer to doer. Her journey wasn’t without challenges. Coming from a neighborhood with limited resources, Caldwell lacked capital and mentors. "No one was interested in hearing my ideas, let alone guiding me through real estate development," she recalls. Undeterred, Caldwell poured herself into learning, taking entry-level jobs in construction and devouring books from the library to learn the ropes. Even when the odds were against her, she didn’t back down. Faith has always been her cornerstone. "If God is in it, I can’t fail," she says confidently. "I’ve stumbled and been bruised, but failure isn’t an option. This is bigger than me." Her workday has always been a balancing act— building communities by day and raising her three daughters by night. A single mom, Caldwell instilled the same work ethic in her children, who spent their summers working for her, learning the ropes of the family business. “They started from the bottom— answering phones, setting up inspections, and even making coffee,” she says with a smile. “It wasn’t easy, but they thank me for it today.” Her youngest, Sydney, is now pursuing a degree in urban development, continuing the family’s legacy of building equitable communities. "Lifestyle matters," Caldwell beams, "and I’m proud my daughters share my passion for creating spaces where people can live the lives they dream of." Caldwell’s electrician brother has also joined her team, making Caldwell Kinard LLC a true family affair. Together, they’re revitalizing neighborhoods, repurposing real estate, and giving new life to communities. Despite the challenges, the satisfaction far outweighs the work. Elisa Caldwell has not only built a thriving business—she’s built a legacy of hope, determination, and triumph. For Caldwell, every project is personal. "I like to say we help create sustainable families using real estate as the foundation. When you put people first, you build something that lasts." PINC MAGAZINE
