Photoshoot Makeup Inspiration
It was important for me to have a makeup look for my final shoot that matched my concept. Especially with portraiture photography, as the small details can often make a big difference due to the zoomed in perspective and the face often being the main focus of the photograph.
The two styles of portraiture photography that I am taking influence on are conceptual and beauty editorial. Conceptual photography often emphasizes an image theme and identity. I decided to use the main theme of pearls from my concept to incorporate into my models' makeup. I researched into different makeup looks that use pearls. I found the best place to seek inspiration from this was Pinterest.

I really like the idea of using pearls over the eyelids for a unique style of eye makeup. I ordered adhesive pearl stickers online for my shoot, and as you can see in one of the images I practiced trying it on myself first. I really like how it looked and I am looking forward to seeing what it looks like on my model. I am also considering using pearl hair pins if I get any images of the model holding a mirror.
For the base makeup for my shoot, I want to keep it minimal with glowy skin. This is because I don't want bold makeup to distract from the small jewellery details and the political element of the photoshoot. Furthermore, a subtle and minimal approach to makeup has been a more recent trend with Generation Z. Less seems to be more and glowing and bronzy skin base is generally more desired.
