CHARLOTTE LATIN SCHOOL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS HOW DO I REGISTER FOR CLS SUMMER PROGRAMS? You may register electronically at charlottelatinsummer.com or call the Summer Programs office at 704-846-7277.

WILL MY CHILD NEED A PHYSICAL TO ATTEND CAMPS? No. You will need to complete a basic medical questionnaire online at the time of registration.

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE? DO I NEED TO REGISTER MY CHILD FOR THE ENTIRE SUMMER? Our programs run on a weekly basis for seven sessions. Our morning programs run from 9 a.m. – noon, and our afternoon programs run from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Some campers participate half days, while other campers take advantage of our 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. programs. If your child participates in both a morning and afternoon program, we have a free-of-charge, supervised lunch hour during which we eat lunch and play games. Our most popular programs are offered multiple times during the summer.

Make sure to look for exciting new opportunities this summer! Returning this year is our popular, all-inclusive day camp, CAMP VICTOR. Camp Victor is a full day camp for ages 5 – 9.

WHAT DOES CAMP VICTOR INCLUDE? Times: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily the weeks of June 20 – July 22. CAMP VICTOR will divide into three age groups to serve ages 5 – 9. CAMP VICTOR also includes before/after care and lunch for a camp tuition of $335 per week. Visit charlottelatinsummer.com for more details.

WHAT DOES MY CHILD WEAR TO CAMP? Please dress your child in appropriate clothes that can get dirty. Closed-toed sneakers are required. If your child is participating in an outdoor sports camp, dress for appropriate outdoor weather. Sunscreen should be applied before camp and sent with your camper if they require another application.

MY CHILD WILL BE AT CAMPS DURING LUNCH. WILL THERE BE FOOD FOR MY CHILD TO PURCHASE? Boxed lunches from FLIK Dining may be pre-ordered. Boxed lunches are sold on a per week basis at a cost of $45 per week. Our office will contact registered campers with more information.

I NEED MY CHILD TO ATTEND THE LUNCH HOUR, YET HE IS NOT STAYING FOR THE ENTIRE DAY. HOW DOES THIS WORK? You may easily register your child for the lunch hour (12 – 1 p.m.) even if he or she will not be here the whole day. There is a small charge of $25/week for this service.

SUMMER PROGRAMS 2017 AT-A-GLANCE WHAT ELSE DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BRING TO CAMP? In addition to a snack and a bottle of water, some camps have daily art or other projects that go home at the end of each day. Campers attending sports camps may need to bring items associated with their particular sport.

WHERE DO I DROP OFF/PICK UP MY CHILD FOR CAMP? Enter the main entrance of Charlotte Latin School 9502 Providence Road, Charlotte NC 28277. Follow Fox Drive past three speed bumps, and turn right. Follow the carpool lane around until you are in front of the Media Center. We offer a continuous carpool lane. Please remain in your vehicle and we will escort your child to their camp or bring your child to you. If you wish to walk your child up to check-in, please park in the Media Center parking lot. You will be emailed a newsletter and carpool card one week prior to the start of your scheduled camp.

I AM REGISTERED FOR BEFORE/AFTER CARE, WHERE DO I GO? If you have registered for Before/After Care please drop off your child at the Lower School Gym between the hours of 7:30 and 8:45 a.m. (see website map) using the Raintree entrance. At 8:45 a.m., all students will be en route to their morning camps. Please use the main carpool lane if you arrive after 8:45 a.m. If you are picking up your child between 4:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., please do so in the Lower School Gym (see website map) using the Raintree entrance. You will need to park and walk your child to and from your vehicle for security reasons.

I NEED MY CHILD TO TAKE THE BUS, WHAT IS THE COST? Round-trip bus service is available from Christ Episcopal Church on Providence Road. All bus registrations must be completed online.To select the bus, please see the “Camp Information” tab on our registration portal. The bus service fee is $50 per week, per rider. Your child must be 4 years old to ride the bus.

I NEED TO PICK UP MY CHILD EARLY. WHAT DO I DO? Please notify the Summer Programs office so that we can arrange for your child to meet you early at carpool 704-846-7277.

WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS ALLERGIES? Please notify our office if your child has anaphylactic allergies. You will need to provide us with an EpiPen prior to the first day of camp. Charlotte Latin Summer Programs has a full-time athletic trainer/nurse on campus throughout the summer.

From morning rally to water day and back to special guests and problem solving; these students will create a new camp language that will encourage others to be not only life learners but also camp learners.
