Lifestyle at Cresswind Twin Lakes Hello! I hope everyone is having a wonderful fall and looking forward to the new year and the exciting things to come in 2024! Next year we will continue to strive to provide unique and fun Lifestyle Events, and there are many things in the works that I’m excited to announce soon. Of course, you can rest assured that you will still see community favorites like the twice monthly trivia games, as well as concerts on weekend nights.

As we look forward into the new year, we should reflect on how far we have come as a community and how much we’ve grown. It’s hard to believe we’re already coming up on the 1 year anniversary of the Clubhouse Grand Opening! It feels like it was just last month we were celebrating our new space. And we can’t forget all the ways we’ve seen the Clubhouse used. There were over 15 concerts this year, 10+ club events/dances, and over 25 educational seminars and/or lunch & learns. It is amazing to see how involved everyone has gotten and the ways we continue to come together as a community. At the start of 2023, we had chartered clubs, but we’re closing the year out with 30! Wow!! I look forward to closing the year out in a BIG way with a NYE Bash featuring The Regulators. It is only fitting they help us finish out the year, as they were there for our Grand Opening celebrations in February. And as we make our way through the Holiday Season, there will be a time to celebrate with family, and a celebration for residents only, as well. Looking forward to celebrating the end of 2023 with you, but I am most excited for what’s to come!

Friday Night Concert Fun with Betty Seni!
N
ow that the fall weather has started to settle in, many residents have been enjoying the cooler days and nights and are taking full advantage of the opportunities to be outside. One such night was September 22nd and we were so glad that we had Betty Seni to share it with us. Betty Seni sung her heart out
for close to 200 residents on our Outdoor Event Lawn. The night was perfect! Watching the sun set over the lake was a beautiful sight, and the cool weather that set in didn’t keep attendees from dancing! The night was clear and Betty’s voice was fantastic. She kept the crowd dancing until the very end!

LIFESTYLE at a glance DEVELOPER UPDATE FROM OUR COMMUNITY DIRECTOR, JENNIFER LANDERS The Holidays are fast approaching here at Cresswind at Twin Lakes! I wanted to let you know about some exciting updates that Kolter Homes has going on in your neighborhood. Traffic improvement planning continues for the Twin Lakes Main Entry located at Hwy 53 and Twin Lakes Blvd. We now have the city’s approval and are awaiting the final Jennifer Landers Community Director sign-off from GDOT to begin to contract the work and order the equipment for the new traffic signal We will continue to keep you informed as we progress. The second phase of the Pickleball Complex, which will also include four tennis courts, is scheduled to be installed by September 2025. This phase offers another 20 Pickleball courts, including the four tennis courts, which will serve as multi-use for both Tennis and Pickleball. All of the new courts will be lighted and will have additional shaded benches among them. The waiting list for the planter boxes at the Community Garden continues to grow, therefore the remaining planter box install has been moved forward and is scheduled for June 2024.
The Canoe and Kayak boat storage is under construction along with a new Kayak beach launch platform. The HOA is working with residents to start a new club to manage everything. Our walking and hiking trails continue to grow. There are four existing trails. The first runs from the Pickleball Courts behind Ontario Court and Publix down to the wooden bridge. The second connects across the wooden bridge to the lakes, the third is located between the Dog Park and the Community Garden traveling to the lakes, and the fourth is located along the lake’s edge on the Cresswind side of the lakes. Additional trails will follow as the next community phases are completed. Cresswind at Twin Lakes will have eight phases of development upon completion for a total of 1,300 homes. We have completed the development of Phases 1-4 and are currently pre-selling homes in Phase 5. This phase consists of 169 homesites and is located in two areas of the community behind Rabun Court in Phase 3 and Seneca Way and Huron Lane in Phase 4. Celebrating Little Black Dress Day!
S
eptember 1st is known as National Little Black Dress Day, and the ladies of Cresswind celebrated in style! Residents signed up for a fun potluck brunch, with mimosas and a fashion show while decked out in their classic little black dress. There was so much food at the event and everyone left with full bellies. There were appetizers, main dishes, and desserts so every food category was covered!

After enjoying a nice luncheon, we closed out the event with a fashion show. Each table took turns on the runway to strut their stuff. And all the other ladies in attendance cheered and encouraged one another. It was a wonderful morning spending time with each other and learning about other women in our community.

Johnny Fortuno • Elvis Impersonator Takes the Stage!
T
he King of Rock and Roll was alive and well in Hoschton, GA this past September! Elvis took the stage here at Cresswind at Twin Lakes on September 17th and it was a night to remember! Johnny Fortuno, an award winning Elvis impersonator, made Elvis fans young and old feel as though they were witnessing Elvis in action. When Johnny was young, he worked with legendary performer Don Ho before becoming the youngest Elvis tribute artist to perform in Las Vegas. And we were lucky enough to witness his performance first hand when he went on a Cresswind tour.
His equally talented wife, Casey Fortuno, not only joined him on the road, but also showcased her musical talent by performing as the opening act. Her voice left the crowd mesmerized and eagerly anticipating her next song. She finished out her set with a beautiful rendition of Over the Rainbow that deserved the standing ovation that followed. The energy kept up as Elvis took the stage, too! Johnny transported the crowd to a time that brought back feelings of nostalgia for so many of our residents. He hit all the classic songs including Jailhouse Rock, Burning Love, and Suspicious Minds and he finished with a wonderful rendition of Can’t Help Falling in Love that had many couples dancing in the aisle. It was a wonderful night and everybody left happy! We can’t wait for The King to visit us again!
