SUMMER 2022 “THE LAKES” As the summer sun begins to really show off and keep us glistening way into the evening hours, we can look back at how fortunate we are to have enjoyed and made great use of a very early and mild Spring.

Back in mid-February we wrangled a 60-degree Saturday afternoon and had ourselves a Mardi Gras + Valentine’s Day Soiree! The legendary “Wasted Potential Brass Band” brought their New Orleans second-line street beats and tuba goodness, and our community responded with feathermasks and bead necklaces and parade lines! It was bright and bold and so much fun. After the brass band, we switched gears to dance, dance, and line-dance to DJ Louie playing all the love songs and pop hits. Catered Kitchen provided red beans & rice along with chocolate bread pudding, and we were all home safely by 5:00pm. What a day. Photo evidence can be found on page 5 .

To create a space for workshops and club meetings such as Book Club and Bridge Club, we have the daylight basement of the Poplar model for use in the evenings. Our April workshop with Green Girl Basics had 10 of our homeowners learning about herbs and organic ingredients to then make-and-take four of their own mud masks! Check out the photos on page 20.

A Spring Vendor Fair brought 18 vendors from surrounding businesses including Infinity Floating Spa, Yarn Junkees, and our Pop-Up Regional Library. Photos on page 6.

And our big, fantastic spring concert with the Vintage Vixens was an absolute blast! The tie-dye and glow necklaces were on display and all 300 guests danced for a solid two hours. Super groovy photos on page 8, man.

We’ll continue to make use of our outdoor areas including our new community trail, our Eagle’s Nest viewing deck (which provides an excellent breeze along with shade), and nearby venue partners, to provide a full schedule of concerts, movie nights, fitness classes, and workshops galore. And we’ll watch as Club Cresswind takes shape and promises us an even grander scale of lifestyle experiences in the near future. Sum-Sum-Summertime, here we come!

DEVELOPER UPDATE FROM OUR COMMUNITY DIRECTOR, JENNIFER LANDERS Greetings Cresswind neighbors, Exciting progress has been made on Cresswind Twin Lakes’ amenities over the past month as you can see in the photos below.

Among the overall highlights I am pleased to share: • The Natatorium roof and windows are installed. Drywall has begun.

• The Club Cresswind roof trusses are complete with first and second floor framing in process, the second floor exterior framing has begun.

• The Community Garden and Dog park construction is nearly complete and scheduled to be ready for resident enjoyment this month.

Jennifer Landers • The new mail kiosk is almost complete. The mailboxes will move over into the Community Director amenity area across from the Community Garden before the end of the month.

Once the date of this move is finalized, advance notification will be sent to all residents so this switch is as seamless as possible.

• The Hiking Trail rules are installed, and entry markings are under construction. You may use the trail.

• Nicole and the Lifestyle Team continue to host weekly events in the daylight basement of the Poplar Model Home.

• Covered Seating at the Pickleball Complex installation complete with some final finishing touches in process around the benches.

During several recent City Council meetings, questions regarding signalization improvements to the intersections of Hwy. 53 and Twin Lakes Blvd. as well as Hwy. 53 and Peachtree Road were discussed. Kolter is also eager to see these intersections improved. However, these intersection improvements cannot be made until approved by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). There have already been two Intersection Control Evaluation (ICE) studies conducted on these intersections since the start of development. One of which was conducted earlier this year. However, neither of these ICE studies have met the GDOT criteria for signalization.

Based on current sale pace, Kolter’s traffic engineer is recommending that an updated ICE study be conducted in early 2023 which will be used to submit to GDOT for review and response for signalization.

Spring Vendor Fair Our Vendor Fairs are always lovely and such a great way to meet your local businesses and resources. Once again, we got so lucky with the warm weather and overcast skies.

A few of our homeowners participated including Arlene Danion and her beautiful quilling art, our local Medicare expert Joey Gill, and Judy Brooks, our local connection with our beloved Library.

We welcomed local medical resources from Northside Hospital

system and the Longstreet Clinic, and wellness pros from Infinity Healing Spa (I just LOVE this group), as well as MadEmEl Medical Aesthetics.

Other local business on site included Lanier Carts, Cool Screens, North Georgia Olive Oil, Yarn Junkees, and Budget Blinds, among many others.

We felt honored to have members of the Downtown Development Authority who brought yummy deserts AND sangria! And of course everyone loves our friend the “Medicine Man”

from Remedy Distillery.

The best part was the live music generously provided by one of the house bands from Cresswind Peachtree City, IMPROMPTU, who kept all the beautiful harmonies and sing-a-long hits from the 60’s-80’s rolling as we enjoyed BBQ and bread pudding.

Grateful for great neighbors and a supportive community!

April Fools Comedy Night!

What better evening to host a Comedy Night than April Fools?! On Friday, April 1st, nearly 250 current and future homeowners gathered to laugh, a lot, thanks to opening act Nick Murphy and headliner Carlos Rodriquez. Nick Murphy was brave enough to joke about politics AND religion and STILL had people laughing. He plays off audience members and incorporates a good bit

of interaction so you’re both nervous and totally amused during his set. All I know is he sold out of his t-shirts after the show. Ha. Carlos Rodriquez has been on the regional scene for quite a while and works a ton of private events and cruises. He was scheduled to open for the hugely successful comedian Jim Gaffigan in Las Vegas just a week after

our event! As a former dental assistant, Carlos tells a lot of stories about his experiences including his very real heart attack back in 2019. His humor is relatable and surprising and so very funny. He stuck around and talked to everyone after the show. And goodness it always feels so good to laugh, doesn’t it?! Our next Comedy Night is Friday, October 7th with Cary Long.

Into the Mud! DIY Mud Mask Workshop with Green Girl Basics On April 28, it was lovely to see the daylight basement of the Poplar model filled with 10 CTL ladies ready to learn how to make their own Mud Masks! Guided by Georgia entrepreneur, organic-ingredient expert, and herbalist Colleen Tricket of Green Girl Basics, we passed around chamomile and pink clay and talked about mass-produced skin products versus smallbatch, thoughtful products we can often create at home when we know what to shop for.

Each attendee left with four mud masks to use over the next few months, and a deep desire to continue learning from Colleen. The only question is, will we learn about and make our own scrubs or serums next? Stay tuned and get involved!
