I’ve been reflecting on the past year and I am so amazed at all that has happened in our special community. Our Clubhouse has officially been open a year! And it is wonderful to see so many residents utilizing the space and enjoying everything our Clubhouse has to offer. This year alone we have hosted memorable events like Johnny Fortuno as Elvis, Glow in the Dark Family Night, and a memorable Holiday Party in December. We finished out the year with a NYE Bash featuring The Regulators. I know that 2024 is going to be equally, if not more, amazing and full of exciting events.
As we head into 2024, you will continue to see some of your favorite events. Trivia will continue to take place twice a month on Friday nights. And this year, we’re adding karaoke to the calendar once a quarter. So, be sure to keep an eye out for information on those popular events. The second Thursday of every month will be dedicated to Bingo, which has quickly become a favorite activity for many residents. The time does change every month, so stay up to date by visiting our activities calendar regularly. That is the best way to stay up to date on all the latest activities, and you can even look ahead to see what future events might catch your interest.

Celebrating the Holidays in Style
Cresswind
at Twin Lakes had such a memorable 2023 holiday season! The community celebrated together in so many ways. Beginning in November all the way through to the new year, residents found ways to share joy with one another. Many residents may have family far away and/or find themselves alone on major holidays. But no one is ever alone in our neighborhood! A handful of residents gathered together on Thanksgiving Day and again on Christmas Day to celebrate together. It was a memorable experience for all and felt so nice to be surrounded by friends while enjoying a meal. The community really knows how to come together!
As the holiday season continued, residents put on their festive attire, warmed up their voices, and formed the Cresswind Carolers. Our festive carolers made their way through the neighborhood each weekend throughout the holiday season. They made sure that no street was left

out of the fun and sang their hearts out! Neighbors came out from the warmth of their homes to hear their favorite holiday classics performed by their very own neighbors and friends.
In December, our Clubhouse managed to hold 370 people for a very popular Holiday party. So many neighbors came together for a night of dinner and dancing. The night started with everyone gathering in the Clubhouse foyer to enjoy a special Holiday Punch, made by members of the Social Committee. In fact, the punch was so popular, a trip had to be made to the store so that we could make more!
Once the doors opened, everyone swarmed into the Multipurpose Room. While space was tight, party goers were in good spirits as they found seats among neighbors and friends. After getting settled, residents enjoyed a full meal, courtesy of Harvest Catering. And the food was delicious! Harvest Catering provided Panko Chicken in a Parmesan Cream Sauce, Honey Mustard & Thyme Roasted Pork Chops, Herb Roasted Potatoes, and fresh Green

Beans. In fact, there was not even any leftover food to take home! As the night went on, the Lounge was turned into a dessert room, where trays upon trays of fresh made Publix desserts were available for residents to indulge in as a way to top off a wonderful night.
After the food was served, the evening continued with dancing as we enjoyed the music of the Chris Hampton Band. They really know how to get us up and dancing! They even stayed past their allotted time to play for us, as everyone was in such high spirits. What a wonderful night we had celebrating the holiday season with one another, and it was so special to share this magical time.
As we said goodbye to 2023, on December 31st, we had a New Year’s Eve Bash to ring in 2024. For entertainment, we welcomed back a neighborhood favorite band, The Regulators. It was extra special to have The Regulators with us on NYE because they helped us open the Clubhouse back in February. What a perfect way to end a monumental year!

2024 Health & Wellness Fair
In January, the Fitness & Wellness Committee called on many of our community’s health care providers and other healthrelated servicers for a Health & Wellness Fair. Part of the Fitness & Wellness Committee’s mission is to aide the residents of Cresswind in continuing to live a healthy and active lifestyle, so it was important to make sure residents knew where to turn if they find themselves in need of help. So, even though the morning was cold, residents made their way to the Clubhouse to see what health benefits they might find.
Residents could find services from all sorts of health & wellness related topics. The local hospital brought representatives from 6 different departments, which is only a small portion of the hospital’s specialties. A local Chiropractor was in attendance for those in need of alignment. Some residents even stopped by the Stretch Zone booth, where visitors were able to get a demonstration stretch session and learn about the many benefits of regular stretching.
Physical health was not the only branch represented at our 2024 Health & Wellness fair. There were several vendors whose area of expertise was financial wellness, insurance, and navigating through the Medicare options. It was wonderful to see the community take charge on having a healthy year!

Spotlight: Cooking Club
This quarter we shine a spotlight on Cresswind at Twin Lakes’ biggest community club, the Cooking Club. The Cooking Club was formed to provide culinary and social learning activities to Cresswind residents while also providing an enjoyable food experience. Since it’s formation, the Cooking Club has continued to grow in size and it is evident why it is so popular among those in the neighborhood. Not only do members have a chance to learn something new through multiple cooking demonstrations, but the Cooking Club is becoming known for throwing fabulous social events for major cultural holidays. One such event was Oktoberfest last autumn. It was a great day filled with food, beer, and friends!
