Happy, hot Georgia Summer, everyone! Considering what many other parts of the country are going through, I’m grateful we’ve had a good run of days under 90 degrees! This community continues to show up for all sorts of classes and events, from weekly yoga and tai chi, to monthly concerts and tournaments. We are getting in the groove!

Speaking of groove, our first BIG outdoor concert took place on June 26th with the high energy Cherry Cherry Band, a Neil Diamond Tribute. Over 320 attendees, current and future homeowners, signed up and came out to meet each other and dance, dance, dance!

Our next BIG outdoor concert featuring the Liverpool Legends, THE GREATEST Beatles tribute, is coming up on Saturday, September 25th! We’ll also have smaller monthly concerts with food trucks and BYOB, typically on Friday evenings so everyone can start their weekend with a relaxed community soiree! Our ever-popular “Health & Hobbies” vendor fair is scheduled for October 2nd, and another day-trip TBA! We are busy!

In July, we sponsored not one but two Pickleball tournaments! These events gave us a chance to see how tournaments come together and how best to organize. Our growing Pickleball Club show up twice each week for open play and is pulling together a team for the Kolter-hosted Cresswind Cup tournament in October!

Even as we wait for our beautiful community clubhouse, we are creating friendships and staying active here at CTL. Thank you all for your good energy and input. Together, we’re rounding the corner into an epic fall, 2021.

Developer Update

W

elcome to new Cresswind Twin Lakes Residents! We are now home to over 100 residents and have recently released in July our next phase of homesites for sale in Phase 2C located off of Cumberland Trail and Ontario Lane.

Our Pickleball Pavilion and Bathhouse is under construction and will be open for your enjoyment this fall. The Clubhouse with Natatorium and Outdoor Pool are progressing with a Grand Opening coming in 2022!

We know our current and future residents are excited to see the progress so Nicole will keep Jennifer Landers Community Director everyone updated as new photography is taken throughout the construction process.

We now have over 100 homes occupied!

MEET YOUR NEW COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION MANAGER Hello, Cresswind at Twin Lakes!

I have met many of you, but for those that I haven’t, I am Johnny Gallagher, your Community Association Manager! Cresswind at Twin Lakes is a wonderful community, filled with wonderful people and I am excited to be with you all (ya’ll)!!

I have a background in Real Estate, Community Association Management and Customer Service. I am a husband and a father, my wife and I have four children, three basically grown and then a six year old, just to keep giving me a reason to play with toys in the yard without neighbors raising an eyebrow. We also have two cats and two dogs, so we are pet people as well, hence the reason I often ask to be introduced to your own pets (so far I’ve met Aurora, Millie, Chester, 3 different Gracies, Bonnie and Clyde, Buster and Bubba and more)!

In addition to my duties as your CAM (sometimes also called a property manager) I plan to stop in on events, to see everyone, learn more of your names, get beat badly in pickleball and endeavor to make as many dad jokes (rad jokes!) as I can (whenever appropriate, of course).

Staying Active!

With well over 100 homes occupied as of early August, our weekly classes are growing beautifully! We’re continuing Tai Chi classes with our wonderful teacher, Cheryl, every Wednesday morning, and I think we all agree that the mindful, slow movements encourage a calm steadiness and increased stability.

Our lovely and loving yoga teacher, Cassie Dalton, continues the Monday evening series at 6:30pm, utilizing the lawn behind the sales office. Cassie is experienced, encouraging, and funny!

She offers an all-levels class that brings everyone to a place of calm strength and good vibes. We are grateful to have such a fantastic yoga teacher.

Line Dance party with Jane Gregg.

And for the faster-paced folks, the Line Dance class at the nearby Blake’s of Braselton on Wednesday evenings will resume mid-September! Great fun, and great exercise for the body and the mind, Jane Gregg leads us in the basics of country and club-style line dances.

We even had a Line Dance Party on July 15th with a food truck and some hot, sunny steppin!

aturday, June 26th marked our first BIG outdoor concert at CTL which included current and future homeowners.

Over 320 attendees reserved their spot and filled up the front lawn with great energy and friendly fun. I received so many comments about the highlight being a new connection with future neighbors, and that’s what it’s all about!

The band played double-duty, starting us out with Mainstreet, a Bob Seger tribute, full of slow dancing and oldtime rock-and-roll singa-longs. After a short

break, they returned as Cherry Cherry Band, a Neil Diamond tribute complete with sequin jacket and American flagwaving. This crowd was ON IT’S FEET! So much dancing and interaction and forgetting everything other than the moment – a true community celebration.

TRIP DATE: SATURDAY, MAY 15TH. A Perfect Day for a Pickleball Tourny!

W

ith just over half of our pickleball courts in place, we broke in what is sure to be a regular tournament schedule with two pickleball tournaments in July!

The first tournament was the Dahm Smith Kidney Fund Benefit Tournament hosted by Jerry “Ay Caramba” Meyer and run by the Georgia Pickleball Association. On the weekend of July 10th, players from all over Georgia gathered for division play, raising funds for a well-known and loved member of the local pickleball scene. CTL had several players take part, dipping our toe into the competitive water, learning the ropes and having so much fun doing it.

The following weekend we hosted Club Wars, a gathering of pickleball teams from surrounding cities and towns, with an emphasis on every team playing every other team. This event provided stiff competition and an incredible social aspect.

Both events went off with rave reviews of our courts so we’re all counting down to our building being complete, including bathrooms and an eagle’s nest viewing deck!

Coming up next, the Cresswind Cup! A southeast regional competition among Cresswind properties from Florida to the Carolinas and we are so excited to host!

The remaining pickleball and tennis courts will be complete next year. Look out and look forward!
