Welcome to 2022!

As we start a new year we also set intentions for the kind of community we hope to create. Thanks to our homeowners, I can confidently say that CTL is an energetic, creative, and thoughtful community.

Groups of like-minded friends have already come together to form unofficial clubs that will take a more official form when the clubhouse provides space for a regular schedule of meetings and events. In the meantime, look forward to some announcements regarding additional spaces soon to be available for your educational and entertainment needs!

The last quarter of 2021 took full advantage of our mild climate and seized every sunny day for outdoor classes, meet & greets, concerts, and other connective pastimes. Exhibit A: the cover photo featuring our sunny, Sunday afternoon Trivia event at Braselton Brewing Company. We are lucky to have local business share their outdoor space with our community for a variety of events.

Our Line-Dance series thrived, our Pickleball players are staying busy, and we look forward to taking our Yoga and Tai Chi classes back outside and in-person once the warm weather returns. For now, our community is turning out for Zoom classes which is admirable, healthy, and can even earn you a gift certificate just for attending a class. Incentives, yay!

We certainly ended the year with a bang when we showed up for a Holiday Market on a beautiful, sunny Sunday (after a thunderstorm, no less)! Attendees enjoyed free coffee from Phoenix Roasters and ice cream from local favorites, Juke n’ Jive. Vendors comprised of local businesses as well as crafty, artistic homeowners lined our model cul-de-sac, and baritone guitar wizard Alex Gordon provided the perfect soundtrack. After the market, a long-awaited holiday concert from the incomparable vocal group the GLOW Band lit up our concert lawn! Homeowners donned tacky sweaters and lined up for a contest and photo (see page 6) and then danced until the last note.

To our current community, thank you for laying the foundation for a vibrant neighborhood. To our future homeowners, we can’t wait to meet you and add to the energy. Let’s goooo!

DEVELOPER UPDATE FROM OUR COMMUNITY DIRECTOR, JENNIFER LANDERS Dear Neighbors, Friends & Residents, I hope everyone’s year is off to a good start, and the holidays were enjoyed by all.

As promised at our annual meeting, below is this month’s update on Club Cresswind progress and news on the various amenities projects we have underway. While materials, supply chain, and labor issues continue to challenge us, I am pleased to report the following milestones the team has achieved and share details on other key projects. These may not be items you’ll see looking at the job site, but important accomplishments nonetheless.

• Given long-lead times, we have proactively secured all Clubhouse furniture and arranged for appropriate off-site storage so everything is ready when the clubhouse is.

• Engineering on the Natatorium has been completed and the structural concrete and framing are scheduled to begin next month.

• All needed steel for clubhouse framing has been procured and is currently in fabrication for delivery to the job site at the commencement of vertical construction.

• The Cart Path along Chatuge construction is underway will be complete within the next two weeks weather pending.

Planning and development of the Dog Park (located across from the new mail kiosk in the amenity area) has been advanced so that it will open by May. More on timing for that in next month’s update.

• We are setting up a social space in the daylight basement of the Poplar Model Home that Clubs can use after hours to host small meetings and/or events. We are working to have this completed in February.

• Pickleball Shade Structures have been ordered and currently tracking for installation by no later than the end of April.

Pickleball Court parking lot lighting remains on order. More on timing as Georgia Power confirms installation.

• All Phase 1 Roads will be topped this Spring. As you may know, this project was originally scheduled for later, though we are pleased the team was able to expedite.

• The initial Nature Trail connecting the Pickleball Courts down to the Wooden Bridge has been determined. Installation work will be initiated and completed by early April.

Finally, we anticipate vertical construction on the clubhouse to be fully engaged next month, and that progress will be quite apparent. In addition, Nicole continues to curate and offer a full & fun calendar of activities that I hope you are able to take advantage of as we build, strengthen and grow the Cresswind community.

Men’s Club forms to offer a Helping Hand to the Residents of Cresswind Twin Lakes

F

rom time to time we all need a helping hand from our neighbors. Perhaps you need help rotating a mattress, hooking up electronic equipment or jump starting your car battery. Maybe you can use a helping hand to change the smoke alarm battery or the air filter in the attic. The Cresswind Twin Lakes community now has a group of good samaritans eager to help with your emergency and non emergency needs.

The Men’s Club of Cresswind at Twin Lakes provides civic and community service support to the residents of this community and surrounding areas of Hoschton and Braselton. The Men’s Club is currently looking for volunteers willing to work hard and give time to help us serve the needs of our community. To be eligible for membership you must be a male home owner or permanent resident, at least 21 years old, having officially closed on your Kolter home and moved into the Cresswind Twin Lakes community. Entertainment at the Fox Theater Another fabulous excursion with A-Plus Tours! Saturday, January 29th a group of 17 neighbors day-tripped to Ponce City Market for lunch, featuring all the fun food options one can handle. The group then hopped back on their bus bound for the Fabulous Fox theater where they took in a matinee of the award-winning musical TOOTSIE! A grand time was had by all and new friendships took hold. Laughter + community = a perfect Saturday!

Upcoming Spring Concert on MAY 14!

The Vintage Vixen playlist includes covers of the biggest hits from The Mamas & the Papas, Turtles, Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Drifters, Nancy Sinatra, Dusty Springfield, The Byrds, Young Rascals, The Kinks, CCR, and more including some 70s favorites, too. It’s a happy 60s hit fest of good time, sing along music! We cannot wait to host them for a fabulous Spring concert on Saturday, May 14th here at CTL! All of our concerts are bring-your-own food and beverages. Plan on sharing goodies with your table and arriving right when gates open to grab a table and relax and schmooze before the music begins. Our outdoor concerts always offer a fabulous night of music and community.

O

ne of the pillars of a Cresswind community is Relationships. What do we mean by relationships? We are referring to not only the friendships and very real bonds that form from living within such a supportive and connected community, but also the ties and partnerships we form with local businesses.

For example, you will find the advertisement from Northeast Georgia Health System on the inside back page of this magazine. NGHS has been

investing in CTL since we launched this magazine at the end of 2020, and we’ve enjoyed their in-person appearances during our Vendor events as well. More than one occasion our community has donated goods and handmade cards of encouragement to their overworked doctors, nurses, and employees.

Similarly, the Northside Hospital System has provided opportunity to meet their specialists for an end-of-day wine down.

Our first sunset event brought us three Cardiovascular surgeons, answering

questions and introducing themselves to our lovely community. Our second event connected us to two Orthopedic surgeons, ideal for Pickleball fanatics working to keep their joints in optimal condition!

Somehow both events took place on beautiful, clear evenings with a bright moon. You have to give thanks when nature cooperates! We look forward to many more mutually-beneficial events with these two renowned and valued community partners.
