In case you didn’t know, the daisy is our school mascot. It’s one of my favorite flowers, and when I looked up its meaning, I found something truly fitting for students embarking on a new career it symbolizes "New Beginnings " I hope you see your journey here at SI as a meaningful step toward your future. You have the power to shape your career and make it your own Seize the day, every day, and embrace this new beginning with purpose and passion.

Plan Ahead
Learning how to be successful in your new career may seem daunting at first. Some of you guys are planning for a career alone as a solopreneur, others are excited about starting in a great career at a spa or product line. No matter what you choose, you must make sure you are getting prepared while in school Don’t forget to let us help you with your resume and we want to help with your search.

What is Accreditation? Taught by a Legend!!
Schools often tout their accreditation but what does it mean to you, and why is it important?
Accreditation for trade schools is a standard set by the National Board of Education to ensure that students receive training from legitimate, highquality institutions. Accredited schools must operate according to specific standards, rules, and systems. A well-run school typically has a staff of three to seven individuals to support its operations. Accrediting organizations, approved by the Board of Education, conduct thorough reviews of a school's operations to ensure compliance with these standards Once accredited, it is the school’s responsibility to maintain these procedures, as they are subject to periodic inspections. Our school governing board of commissioners is an organiization called COMTA, and we will undergo an inspection on April 30 and May 1. Three inspectors will be on campus to assess our operations and your learning experience
This is a significant time for our school—and most importantly, for YOU! If we pass this inspection, we will hold three accreditations:
✅ CIDESCO (International)
✅ NCEA (National Esthetics Certification)
✅ COMTA (Federal Certification)

I first met Akua in 1999 when I launched my skincare and makeup line and she was fabulous! On the arm of a successful local entrepreneur, she tried my products, fell in love with them, and helped spread the word Over time, she became a dear friend, but even then, she was already one of the top makeup artists in the country
Her incredible career includes working as a color stylist for Michael Jordan, Cheryl Tiegs, R Kelly, and many more Her artistry has graced the faces of over 100+ personalities, appeared in 12+ magazines, served 50 corporations, worked with 70+ film directors, and contributed to 5+ major motion films

As a growing school, we face many challenges, and Ms. Kelly saw a need and stepped up in the most generous way. Last month, she made a thoughtful donation to SI to help purchase products something she was never obligated to do, as her tuition was already covered

Beauty Changes Lives is one of the scholarship programs we offer to students upon application This incredible organization is dedicated to helping students excel in the beauty industry While many students never take the leap to apply, Ms Teharah did!
One morning after Christmas, I received the most exciting news Teharah won! �� She was selected from hundreds of applicants for an amazing scholarship that not only covered her tuition but also left her with extra funds. Her entry video was impeccable, and the judges loved it!
Beyond being a talented student, Teharah is a producer, writer, entrepreneur, and the founder of her own lip line and let’s just take a moment to admire those fabulous lips! �� She also gives back by volunteering for young women through her own nonprofit

CIDESCO Exam Time
CIDESCO EXAM is Scheduled for April 22 to 24!!
I will be offering a training intensive on April 11, 12, & 13 I will review case studies and papers Yours must be completed by then You will learn how to work with the machines, how to answer verbal questions, how to dress and what to expect overall You must be prepared to succeed and this training will help you
If you are qualified to test, check with Ms Char for your CIDESCO Candidate number and register for training
Our schedule is as follows: Mock Exam - April 22 @ 1 pm MCQ Exam - April 23 @ 10 am Practical and Oral Exam - April 24 @ 8:00 am
