| CHINESE TEA CULTURE, Pages 6-7 Two pages to open your eyes about an aged Chinese tradition: tea culture. Tea in China is said to be representative of a lifestyle, and even an established way of being hospitable. Author Zoey explores the intricate depth of Chinese tea culture. She even shares her own exclusive insight by mentioning a friend who resides in Xiamen, China and personally understands the kind of tea culture she writes about. | SUMMER READS, Page 10 A page dedicated to two fine books to read during your summer. Author Jetzemany explores two books of different genres and summarizes them in a perfectly captivating way. The Outsiders[I] seems to be the perfect fit to anyone's summer, especially if they're fans of the "coming of age" genre. Alternatively, Jetzemany explores a murder mystery book, but only perfectly enough to pique the interest of her readers: The Sleeping Beauty Killer[I]. She suggests the book will make the reader feel as if they are a detective, searching for clues alongside the protagonist. Additionally, she includes a short fact about the book's author or the book itself, which is more than enough to win the hearts of any summer reading fan. DVC TRIO| SU22

Snippets of Time
A core memory of my grandma
Her first move to America
My grandma moved to the U.S. back in 2017. It was the first time I'd seen her in seven years. She had hopped off the plane, stepping into a bright and bustling city at the San Francisco Airport, that differed greatly from her small hometown in the Philippines. It was a night of tears forming out of joy. Her new lifestyle took quite some time for her to adjust to, the weather especially. She arrived here in the fall when the weather dropped to 50 degrees and the air was frigid and crisp, whereas in the Philippines, the only two seasons are a hot season and a rainy season when the air is humid. The feeling was surreal, seeing her faceto-face after all those countless video calls we've done before she came here. It filled my heart with joy and love, the sound of her laughter and the feeling of comfort made it feel like home again. Our "Californian" family is now growing larger and becoming closer like the old times.

My Travels to Paradise
Story and photos by Aliyah
If you have the opportunity to travel, I would recommended you to visit Ensenada Baja, California. I recommend that you visit Ensenada because there are a lot of activities you can do or you can walk on the pier. There are a lot of snacks, food, and souvenirs you can buy and a lot of different things. Also, I would recommend to go watch the sunset on the beach because it is very beautiful and you can also take a walk on the beach. You can also ride horses on the beach too.
Photo by Aliyah I was able to capture this beautiful sunset photo in Ensenada, Baja California. We went to the beach to walk and I just decided to take a picture of the sunset.

Chinese Tea culture By Zoey Liang When we talk about China, many people will talk about the food, clothes and Chinese kongfu. Today, I want introduce you to Chinese tea culture.
China is a country with a long history. Tea is an important part of Chinese tradition. In China, the main varieties of tea are green tea, black tea, oolong tea, flower tea and yellow tea. Originally, tea was used as a medicine. Later, the ancient Chinese people got to know more about tea. They realized tea not only can help people get rid of the poisoning effects, but it also helps enhance thinking, memory ability and eliminate fatigue. It's also the most beneficial green beverage for physical and mental health. Now, tea is a very important part to Chinese people. not just the use of tea. There are virtues of the Chinese nation in its tea. When a guest arrives. people always like to make some tea to entertain the guest. This is a social convention in China that already has a 3000 year history. To Chinese people, drinking tea is not just for satisfying the taste. It is also part of life. Their purpose is to achieve spiritual enjoyment.

This picture is from my friend Xiamen's house in China. He knows many things about tea and he likes to share the tea culture with others. I learned tea etiquette from him. It was really complex to make the tea; I had to flow the steps carefully to make sure the taste was good. When we making tea, my friend told me that the process of making tea is like our life: we need to wait patiently and study attentively to be successful. After I learned more about the tea, I realized that people drink tea for spiritual enjoyment, an art and it also symbolizes the inheritance of Chinese culture for thousands of years.

Starting with tomatoes Tomato growing is often deemed as overcomplicated, but in truth, they are very simple to grow.
To Start Begin with your choice of tomato seedling, well-mixed soil and a container, with drainage. A fitting choice for early seedlings is biodegradable peat pots. Transplanting these pots will be more effortless for the plants' later growth
Care for Plant For best outcomes, grow your tomatoes in late spring to early summer. They thrive in temperatures between 65 and 85 degrees; they will stop producing above 95 degrees. Young seedlings should be watered twice a day: preferably early morning or late evening.
The Growth of Your Plant Your seedling will endure five stages: early growth, vegetative, flowering, fruit formation and mature fruiting. Once the seedling reaches 3 to 4 inches, transplant it into a bed. During its final stage, the fruit will visibly mature and ripen.

Summer Reads By Jetzamany
The book author Mary Higgins Clark has over 50 best seller novels! She has sold more than 100 million copies of her books in the United States.
re you bored this summer? Are you looking for a good read? Well, I have just the books for you! These books may make your summer frown turn upside down!
Are you into murder mystery? Well if you are, this is the book for you! "The Sleeping Beauty Killer" is part of Mary Higgins Clark's "Under Suspicion" series. The "Under Suspicion" series is about a TV producer, Laurie Moran, who looks at cold cases and tries to find new evidence that could lead to new suspects and clues to what really happened. This book is the fourth book of the series, and in this book, a woman named Casey Carter was convicted of murdering her rich fiancé about 15 years ago and was sentenced to prison because of it. She recently got out of prison, however, she claimed and still claims that she is innocent.

Moran attempts to find the truth while also dealing with a new TV host, Ryan Nichols, whom she doesn't get along with. This story has a crazy plot twist at the end. It will have you at the edge of your seat waiting to find the truth! This book can really entertain you this summer and keep you occupied into trying to find the truth.
The book author S.E. Hinton first wrote this novel when she was just 15 and it was published by the time she was 18 and a junior in high school

Another amazing summer read is "The Outsiders," which is an amazing tale of Ponyboy Curtis, who has some problems in his community where he feels like an outsider, along with his group of friends. This book is very entertaining and shows the point of view of a boy who isn't as welcomed as others in his community. I highly recommend this book to readers who are really into a little bit of action and a lot of drama.

Stay Active
How to stay active over the summer By Sergio
Background image by Canva.com
Staying active is an important part of maintaining a balanced and healthy life style. Despite the heat during summer, you can still find simple, but efficient methods of enjoying your summer while moving around. Arranging a walking session with friends Probably one of the most basic human activities anybody can perform is one we hopefully do a on a continuous basis throughout the day. So why don't we turn this mundane task into a more engaging exertion by enjoying it with our loved ones. By walking with your friends, you are able to kill two birds with one stone by not only completing your exercise for the day, but communication quota for the day by allowing you to enjoy quality time with people you love. Once you invite all your friends and decide on the date, you have to choose an amazing area to enjoy. Contrary to popular belief, the area you choose to visit can be very basic as long you are beside your friends. So just head to any local park or trail grounds and get out there to enjoy your summer.
Exploring the world around you could be an idea that's been bugging you for a long time or a sudden impulse to accomplish something. Maybe you want to learn a new skill or go somewhere you have never visited before, so why not follow your inner desires. Its usually not recommended to act out of impulse, but during the prime of your youth, you should try to push the boundaries of what is capable. Try to enrich your life as much as you can this summer by trying new things and going to new places with your friends, like the beach, amusement park or new cities. Try to learn new skills or enhance skills you already have. Some skills I recommend are to read, sports, anything that interests you. Summer can pass by in a flash, so make the most of your opportunities so you can look back on these memories and cherish them.
Find any excuse to leave the house The summer period is one where the days are long and time feels limitless. So why not take advantage of this period of time and try to find any excuse to leave your home so you can explore the world around you.

Best Waterpark to go to this Summer By Ulises
Waterparks are great to go to in the summer, because it's really hot. And I will talk about one of the best waterparks to go to this summer. That park is called Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, which is located in Concord, CA. It's a really fun experience to go with your family or friends. It only costs $60, but check their website for discounts or if you want, you could get the annual pass for $200.
14
Some of the best features at the park are the rides. They have 10 rides and my personal favorite is the Tornado. I really like the Tornado ride because it's a thriller ride and it's fun. Another fun ride is the Kaanapali Kooler Lazy River, because it's just a relaxing and chill ride. People can also go to the restaraunts and enjoy some food, which in my opinion, is not that good!
