“ENOUGH!” Their mother roared, as if she knew saying this would cease the chaos, and then the house stood silent.
Absolutely silent.
Their mother rushed to their room and Arlo and Rey let her in. She wrapped them in a warm hug and quickly ushered them without a sound to her car. They then sped off, confusion and fear clouding their minds but for whatever reason they could not find the strength to ask the questions that swirled in their minds.
About the Author
Ms. Indigo Moon
Hello ladies, gentlemen, and others! My name is Indigo Moon, but you can call me Indigo or by my last name, Moon. I do not really mind either way. A little bit about me? Well, I was born on a rainy morning in Austin Texas in the summer of 2009. At the start of my education, I struggled with learning how to read, and it would often give me headaches. Especially reading aloud and I would do everything in my power to avoid it. This of course translated over to my writing. It did not help that I was bullied from the start of my education to about 3rd grade. I had no friends and I often just sat alone, daydreaming. Then when I got home, I would sit In front of my tv, old and staticky as it was, and I would watch old V.H.S. tapes. I suppose this is what started my passion for stories. I remember it was about first grade when my teacher played the movie “Ponyo” by Ghibli studios, and I was fascinated. I loved it all the colors, the story, the love, and whimsy. I begged my parents to buy me more of the Ghibli movies and when they did for my birthday or Christmas, I would watch them repeatedly. Loving them even more each time. These movies inspired me to write my own stories no matter how bad they were. They showed me the hope, love, and kindness that my younger self so desperately craved and through those stories and daydreams I could escape my own grim reality. Then in the summer before fourth grade we made our biggest move yet and moved to Loveland Colorado. Finally in that year I found out the joy and wonder of reading. Because of my love for reading, I was convinced to write my own story for the UIL computation in 6th grade which I entered when I moved back to Texas, and I fortunately got second place! Now here I am writing fun stories in journalism class!
