Time has a way of humbling us and well, definitely confusing us. There’s times where we think we have so much of it and then there’s days where we think there’s not enough time in the day to get things done. Working with students trying to implement the importance of using that time wisely always poses its challenges. Here we are in January with what started as a Fall Edition that will get printed and delivered in January and improvising was needed where it makes sense. How is that for timing?

The ironic part out of time in general is you do not realize how precious it is until you really look back and realize, holy cow, time literally flew by. Think about it, we are already in 2023, and you are halfway through your school year. Students, this will click someday for you. It feels legit like yesterday I was walking around my high school campus with a friend trying to gather my final notes for an article I was working on. I still have those articles somewhere stuffed in a momento’s box. Those articles managed to make their way through time and are something I can look back on. The content that I wrote about varied depending on the Spotlight Publication but most of it was sports related.

At that time I was writing about THE game of the season, the one that atheletes counted down to, families were excited to support, and rival schools ain’t got nothing on our Poly Bears. Minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades later, and here I am getting to push my talented group of writers to highlight a moment in time, and I love every single bit of this task. My hopes is you enjoy the hard work, dedication, and time that students put into this publication and will continue to do as time gets the best of us. Enjoy your improvised FALL edition that now made it to the New Year. We will get that whole timing thing write...eventually. See what I did there with ‘write’ instead of well, you know. Punny.

Respectfully, M.Bowe
