WEST HAVEN— The stage was set for the UNH women’s basketball team on Saturday, Feb. 2 and they did not disappoint. In front of a packed house and a national television crew from CSTV, the Chargers defeated the University of Bridgeport, 62-41, to improve their record to 13-7 (13-0 ECC). It was the first nationally televised game in UNH women’s basketball history. The UNH faithful turned out for the largest crowd of the season, as 810 fans poured into the Charger gymnasium. They were full of energy, many of them sporting UNH colors and some even painted chests.
The crowd kept the team in the game from beginning to end, and the final score showed it.
