he University Of New Haven Office Of Alumni Relations has announced The Senior 16 Challenge for the graduating class of May 2016, undergraduate and graduate alike. The challenge consists of 16 weeks of 16 individual challenges that earn the participant an entry. Thsi gives students a greater chance at being “crowned the Senior 16 Champion” during the Senior Benefit Week Fair, and taking home the grand prize, an iPad. The first challenge was to attend the “Senior 16 Kickoff Event” on Jan. 29 in the German Club. The first 300 students who attended got free t-shirts, and joined everyone by listening to music provided by WNHU, taking pictures with Charlie the Charger, participateingin raffles for prizes, such as an alumni bag, a UNH sweatshirt and a stadium seat, and enjoying food and refreshments. By attending, you were already in the running to be the Senior 16 Champion. “It was fun,” said senior forensic science major Alyssa Nettleton, who attended the kickoff event. “It made me realize just how close graduation really is.” If you are interested in becoming the Champion, all you have to do is keep an eye on your email. Every Monday, a new task will be sent out; you must complete the task during that week and submit it by 7 p.m. the following Sunday. Some tasks will have to be completed using social media. For example, the second week’s task had students taking selfies with the bows around campus and posting them with the hashtag #UNHbows or #UNHalumni on

nerve racking,” said junior Julie Schneidenbach. The Sanctuary Degree, an initiation ceremony for the colony members who joined in September, began the ceremonies, making those members fully active. After this exclusive ceremony, all members went through the installation
ceremony, and the colony was officially recognized as the newly installed Theta Omega Chapter. Members were presented with pins given exclusively to founding members to commemorate their hard work and dedication. “It was such a monumental See ALPHA SIGMA ALPHA page 3
