that they would be the first to reach this milestone, representing not only their communities, but also Northern Ontario. Going in the Huskies knew they faced a tough test. They would be competing against teams composed of almost exclusively second year players, from areas with much larger populations and therefore many more potential players to choose from when building a team. In addition, the number of skaters on the roster of each team would be almost twice that of the Huskies – still they were undeterred in their determination to do their absolute best. The defensive pairings of Jack Cyr and Jack Carter, Fynn Manttari and Parker BaronetteMoore would be called upon to limit the shots on goalie Brett Andre. Centermen Cole Ellis, Jordan Martineau and Kyston Stevens would anchor the
offence, partnering with forwards Jake Sanchioni, Mark Raposo, Sienna Lortie, Braeden Bernath and Camden Arsenault to dive an offensive unit unmatched throughout the regular season. The OHF Championships are a round robin style tournament, and the Huskies first opponents, also the Huskies, hailed from Hamilton. The game was very fast-paced, and the Hamilton Huskies had excellent passing, dominating the first two periods of the game. Mark Raposo was seriously injured in the first period and would be out for the rest of the season to the disappointment of his teammates, already missing Carter Pullen who was injured just prior to the post-season. The Huskies rallied to tie the third period after a goal by Cole Ellis, assisted by Cont’d on P.2
