It continues to be an honour to serve everyone in this riding at Queen's Park.” Mike and supporters gathered last night at the Curling Club in Espanola to celebrate the election victory. “Now we can keep moving forward

Public information session regarding the future of ATV’ing in Chapleau

Y

ou see people driving ATVs down the main street every day and maybe you are one of them! Our Chapleau ATV club formed and then remained inactive for a while. Now it seems we may have information to spring into action again and move forward towards making Chapleau a top destination for ATV tourists! The purpose of the Club is: to promote greater interest in ATV use; to improve the public image of ATV

users through education and encouragement of safe, considerate and responsible use of the environment and ATVs; to work with government officials and others toward mutually satisfactory rules for broader use of crown land by ATV users; to promote the use of ATVs as a family sport vehicle; to promote properly organized ATV trips, rallies and competition; to promote friendliness and good fellowship among ATV owners; to cooperate with police,

fire and Civil Defense officials, and other c o m m u n i t y organizations by providing ATVS for emergency duty; and to promote the healthful benefits of ATVing as a recreational activity The Club's Code of Ethics are as follows: promote responsible conduct; ensure the lowest possible impact on the environment; respect other people's property and rights; lend a helping hand when someone is in distress; be available to assist in

emergency situations; recognize the rights of other user groups; learn and obey all federal, provincial, and municipal rules regulating the operation of ATVs and to not travel where prohibited. Many community members have questions regarding the future of this rapidly growing form of recreation in Chapleau. Our local ATV club will be holding a public information session with guest speaker Ry a n B i g n u c o l o -

Director of External Relations for the O F AT V ( O n t a r i o Federation of All Terrain Vehicles). The session will be held Wednesday October 17th, 2007 at 7 pm at the Conference Room in Aux Trois Moulins Motel. It will be a great opportunity to learn more about the club and the future of ATVing in Chapleau. If you need more information please call Kathleen or Roger at 864-1313. All are welcome. Hope to see you there.
