Chapleau. Grand Chief Stan Beardy was re-elected and two new Deputy Grand Chiefs, Mike Metatawabin and Les Louttit were elected by the Chiefs to lead the new term of office. Wade Cachagee, of Niska North Inc. gave a tour of the Niska North facilities to Deputy Grand Chief Mike Metatawabin and Deputy Grand Chief Les Louttit. They welcomed the opportunity to take a tour of the aboriginally owned facility. They are both promoters of Aboriginal owned businesses and encourage economic development for members of the NAN territory. Wade has a pro-active working relationship with Mike
Metatawabin when they both served as Chiefs of their communities and served on the
Mushkegowuk Council of Chiefs. Niska North promotes First Nation projects and sees great promise working with NAN communities in future years to come. Also during the a s s e m b l y Wa d e Cachagee of Niska North presented Josias Fiddler, a very well respected NAN Elder with some cedar blocks which he will use to make ceremonial pipes for cultural ceremonies.
