Monk Street repairs ahead of schedule

hapleau's gateway will have a more welcoming look in the weeks to come. The repairs on Monk Street are ahead of schedule and are nearing completion. The much needed infrastructure improvements commenced in June with a
slated completion for mid to late September. The replacement of all the sewage and water mains have been completed. The street curbs have all been poured and replacement of the sidewalks is ongoing. In February 2009, it was announced that the
municipality of Chapleau would receive a $607,777 provincial contribution towards the Monk Street project. The contribution was part of the Provincial Government's infrastructure investment of 14.3 million dollars.
