Congratulations to IB Candidates in the Class of 2019 We would like to recognize the achievements of the class of 2019. After two years of hard work, challenges, and sacrifice the candidates completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme with stellar results. Along the way the IB Team motivated students, offered guidance when necessary, and ultimately made sure the candidates met the high expectations they set for themselves. Students not only had a slate of rigorous courses inside the classroom, but also had to push themselves to complete Extended Essays on topics as varied as “How the emancipation of women was presented in the novels The Bell Jar and Bonjour Tristesse” to “What is the effect of fat percentage on 30-40-year-old women on blood pressure?”. Furthermore, they explored concepts of what knowledge truly is and how do we acquire it in the Theory of Knowledge course by exploring topics such as “When, if ever, can we know something with absolute certainty?” to “To what extent is the benefit of knowledge important for human responsibility towards the environment?”. Chapel School is not only proud of the candidates and their results, but also of the resilience and camaraderie they showed when times were tough. These students pushed themselves like they never have before, took risks, and acquired skills that will help them for the rest of their lives. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights.
