We are BLESSED to be a BLESSING
Namibia, Africa

Chapelhill Church Family,

We are in awe of the amazing blessings God has poured out through Chapelhill Church. Cindy and I are humbled and so grateful that God would use Chapelhill to advance His Kingdom. But there’s so much more to do, and so much more to give, so that we can reach so many more people for Christ.

In the last chapter of Matthew’s gospel, we find what is commonly referred to as the Great Commission. It’s a radical call which requires radical action, and it serves as the foundational purpose of the Church. The message, while short, gives a clear call with firm direction: “Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations...” Because of these words of Jesus, we have an ever-expanding vision for the spread of the gospel. In every way possible, we should be seeking God’s kingdom and His righteousness.

We believe it is our calling and mission, to send our best, and to give our best to see God’s Global Project fulfilled. Kingdom Builders is our way of bringing the Good News of the gospel to all nations, and together, we can watch God do miracles as we partner with almost 200 Christcentered ministries and missionaries all around the world.

I hope through this book you will see the heart of Chapelhill Church. Through Kingdom Builders, we all have the opportunity to do something amazing together. Would you join us as we stretch our faith to do more in 2025? We hope that you will say “yes!” So that all may hear!

THE STATE OF THE WORLD

The state of the world paints a picture of a worthy work left unfinished. To understand this world, we must be aware of how many people have yet to hear the Good News of Jesus. Those that are waiting and have very little or no access to this gospel are known as the Unreached.

At Chapelhill, we have a global heart because we understand the importance of the Great Commission and want to see all of God’s people reached with the Good News of Jesus.

THE UNREACHED

More than 7,000 people groups in the world are considered unreached.

Over 3 billion people live among the Unreached.

42% of the world has yet to hear the Good News of Jesus.

Around 3,500 of the over 7,000 languages spoken around the world have little or no Scripture.

About 125 million people do not have a single verse of Scripture translated into their language.

CHANGING THE STATISTICS

By choosing to make our heart global and because of the generosity of our church, TOGETHER, we are helping change the statistics.

So much work is being done, and we believe the best days to reach our world are still ahead of us!

WHAT IS KINGDOM BUILDERS?

Kingdom Builders is our way of bringing the Good News of the gospel to all nations through a faithful community passionate about generosity. From kids to adults, the profile of a Kingdom Builder is the same. This community, open to all, is built of individuals and families that prayerfully commit to give over-and-above their tithes to Global Missions, Local Ministry and Next Generation leaders.

Through our Kingdom Builder’s partners, your generosity is…

CONVOY STORY

In the remote hills of Nepal, a resilient 14-year-old girl dreams of a brighter future. As one of eight siblings, Candrakal is determined to take her newfound opportunities and transform her life.

Candrakal walks an hour to and from school to attend the eighth grade. Her favorite subject is English, and she loves playing with her friends over breaks during the day. She thinks Nepali food is the best food in the world. Her smile is bright and genuine, but life has not been easy for her.

Financial struggles have deeply affected her family. Her parents often quarrel from the stress, which is compounded by alcohol consumption and leaves Candrakal weighed down with emotional burden.

Despite the hardships, Candrakal remains focused on school, believing her continued education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty in her family and community.

Through Convoy of Hope’s programming in Nepal, Candrakal receives school supplies, nutritious meals, and training in life skills. The hot lunches at school ensure she has energy to study and play and continue making her long walk to school. Convoy’s Girls’ Empowerment program equips her with essential knowledge about health, her rights as a young woman, and her inherent worth.

Candrakal’s hard work has paid off. Recently, she achieved first place in her school exams — a moment of immense pride for her and her family.

“Eating hot meals every day at school is a blessing to me and my friends. My parents are happy, and I can focus on my dreams,” Candrakal said. “Thank you for giving us the hope to dream big.”

I almost didn’t recognize my local friend that was sitting in front of me. Sure, he looked the same, but this brother that once so boldly proclaimed Jesus and encouraged others to do the same was now telling me this was the last time he would probably meet with me. He said my life was in danger for even meeting with him now. He asked me to help him leave the country. No one had heard from him for a couple months. We knew by now from locals he had been taken in by the government and interrogated. Rumors swirled about if he had recanted his faith and now worked for the government to help track others down.

We knew at a minimum he was being watched and under surveillance. Several of his friends and contacts (including me) had tried to contact him with no response. One day on a whim I tried to call him, and he picked up the phone! I could tell immediately he had no idea who I was, a sure sign his phone had been wiped. I asked him to meet, and he reluctantly agreed. He told me later he felt like Jesus told him to take the risk and meet me.

I’d like to tell you I was ready to meet with him with no reservations but honestly, I was apprehensive. This meeting could mean the end of our time here in the Arab World or worse. In the past 6 months more workers had been asked to leave our country more than ever. The local believers were under intense pressure. Even Westerners were not safe as two Americans we knew had been detained and interrogated, one for over 2 weeks. After prayer and discussions with my family and leadership, I decided to meet with him.

I didn’t know what to say and had no idea why out of all the people the Lord could pair him with, He chose me. I remember telling him we all loved him and there were people around the world praying for Him. I wanted him to know he wasn’t alone and that as long as I was in country, I would meet with him, no matter the risk. He stated he was being watched, his phone monitored, and as soon as I left, they would be calling him to ask about who I was. I told him that if they asked who I was, not to lie. I knew it wouldn’t take much searching for anyone to find out who I was!

Since that day, I have met with my friend several more times. Praise the Lord! It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to witness his transformation and growth these last few months. Once timid and afraid, now he shares about how he has been sharing Jesus with his nieces and nephews. “They are in love with Jesus, and they don’t even know it yet” he proudly proclaims. It was a reminder to me even in times where we feel like the government has choked the life out of this country, the Gospel will still move forward, and the gates of hell will not stand against it! I recently shared with my friend the story of Peter who denied Jesus and even cursed as he distanced himself, but we read about him later boldly proclaiming Jesus and leading the church. I can’t imagine the situation my brother is living in, and I thank the Lord daily for the honor of knowing him. The more time I spend with him, my admiration grows. He truly is one of my heroes of the faith.

Testimonials

“During my time in Ecuador, God showed me what He wants to do with my life. After speaking to a few leaders, I felt that God was calling me into full-time missions.” - Elijah, 2024 Ecuador Youth GoTrip

“While on a GoTrip to Liberia, I was blown away and humbled by the people we served who were content with little and happy they are with God and God alone. God moved my heart to be satisfied with my basic needs, to truly lean on Him, and everything else will be added!” - Jalissa, 2024 Liberia GoTrip

“My two biggest takeaways were: 1) God loves to be in the presence of His people, and 2) How God used the Colombian people’s reverence and adoration toward Him to challenge me to grow in mine. I would highly encourage every person who loves God to GO on a mission trip. Sometimes, God needs to pluck us out of our everyday environment and place us in an environment completely different than what we’re use to. It’s those places where He can really do transformative work in our hearts.” - Jonah, 2024 Colombia GoTrip

THE PANTRY

Our local Pantry ministries are laser focused on promoting quality of life for people of all ages that struggle with food insecurity. With the help of financial contributions from individuals, churches, businesses, and corporations as well as volunteers who give of their time to serve the hungry and the hurting, we are able to feed the hungry and share the love and compassion of Christ.

We never know how one act of kindness is going to impact a person in need. Each week we see faces and behind each face is a personal story of unfortunate circumstance. These stories often contain the heartache of emotional struggles and one’s personal value and self-worth.

At The Pantry, we value our customers. With every bag of groceries, we take the time to give that smile… that hello… that moment of interaction to let someone know we care.

Testimonials

“I took food from The Pantry over to our friend. He said he could not understand how people wanted to help him as he was nothing… then he smiled and said, ‘I know why they help me, … we all have the same Father. Jesus!’ He was so grateful.” Cindy S.

“14 years ago my life was upended and I walked through the doors of the Douglasville Pantry needing food. I was met with the beautiful volunteers who loved on all of us in line. With joy in their hearts and encouragement in their soul, they loved me like I was the only person on the planet. For the first time I could remember, I felt like I was on Heaven’s radar.” Dana

PRC MEDICAL STORY

We received a phone call from a Pregnancy Resource Center in Illinois. Our nurse, Rhonda answered the call. The nurse from the PRC in Illinois asked if we did Abortion Pill Reversal and we told her we did. The nurse exclaimed “Oh thank God!” She stated that she had been calling PRC’s all over our area asking if they did APR and she was told no. Some locations told her they had trouble getting insurance to cover them if they did APR, so they had canceled their APR program.

The nurse went on to explain that they had an APR client from Georgia come to Illinois for an abortion. She explained that the client and her boyfriend had been together for three years. They found out they were pregnant and headed to Illinois for an abortion because they had family there. Prior to arriving, the client and her boyfriend had agreed that if there was a heartbeat she would not abort.

When the client went to the abortion clinic they did an ultrasound. They told her she was early enough for the abortion pill. She asked if there was a heartbeat, and they told her it didn’t matter because she was early enough to take the pills. She asked again if they saw a heartbeat and they admitted to her that there was one but kept pressing her to take the pills. Under the pressure of the staff, she took the pills. By the time she got in the car with her boyfriend she was completely undone and full of regret. Her boyfriend got on his phone and started looking for solutions to see if they had a chance to save their baby. That was how they found the PRC in Illinois, and they were able to start the APR protocol on her immediately.

The problem was, that she would need more doses of the medication and monitoring, but they had to get back home to Georgia. The nurse was trying to find a place that would pick up her care locally. Thankfully, we were able to step in and pick up where the Illinois PRC left off, and they came through our doors just an hour after that phone call. The client and her boyfriend were loved on and ministered to. We did an ultrasound that revealed a bouncy, 9-week baby with a bright beating heart. They were so happy and relieved to know that her pregnancy was moving forward. Our nurse got them set up for parenting and life skills lessons and we continued to work with them throughout their pregnancy.

A healthy baby boy was born in November, and they are praising God for His wonderful gift!

CALLED

Called is the pipeline for the Assemblies of God to help discover and equip those called to vocational ministry.

“We want to see a healthy church in every community that is marked by spiritual and numerical growth. We believe a healthy church starts with a healthy leader that is Spirit empowered, biblically engaged, and missional minded.”

Regardless of your age, stage of life, or experience, Called aims to equip those that are called into vocational ministry with relevant resources. With a goal of 40,000 AG ministers by the year 2030, Called continues to move toward this goal and focusing efforts on gaining, training and retaining vocational ministers.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

The mission of FCA is to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. Pastor James Walker, Area Director for Douglas County South Cobb FCA, is doing just that.

Douglas County FCA serves 19 school campuses, including all 5 high schools, 8 middle schools, 5 elementary schools, and 1 private school.

FCA disciples students through weekly huddles. Huddles are certified small group Bible studies/devotions for coaches and athletes organized by FCA. Pastor James has seen a 30% increase in huddles from the 2023-2024 school year to this year. For the 2024-2025 school year, FCA has 80 huddles and counting.

Pastor James feels a call to connect the schools with local churches. He’s invited entire sports teams to Chapelhill and has also hosted a student-led night of worship in the Youth Auditorium.

“My job isn’t done if my athletes and coaches aren’t plugged into a local church community.”

“I invited a teacher I met through FCA to Chapelhill. When I came to church a few months later, I saw her up on stage leading worship snd her husband’s serving out in the parking lot. It meant the world to me, seeing her not only plugged into a church but growing in discipleship and leading.”

One of the areas Pastor James is most passionate about is student leadership. Douglas County FCA has over 100 student leaders. These students receive leadership development training alongside Bible study and lead events such as Fields of Faith.

Fields of Faith is an FCA event geared to empower students to lead their peers to Christ. Held in late October 2024, this was the first Fields of Faith for Douglas County in 5 years and was Pastor James’ first as Area Director. The bleachers were filled with students and adults. Our Chapelhill Worship team opened the night. Then students led the way—leading worship and sharing the gospel through their testimonies. It was powerful! When the altar call was given, 8 people made decisions for Christ. A local football coach’s family was forever impacted. These moments happen when our church sows into FCA.

What’s on the horizon for FCA? Pastor James is passionate about expanding student discipleship and making a global impact through a new partnership with FCA Brazil!

Your generous giving through Kingdom Builders enables FCA to continue its mission of discipling students and connecting them to the local church.

“Praying hearts and hands only can do God’s work. Prayer succeeds when all else fails.”

Thank you for all that you do. We are grateful for you and our Chapelhill family.”

HOW DO YOU MAKE A COMMITMENT TO BEING A KINGDOM BUILDER?

PLAN

First, make a plan to give. When you have plans and are diligent, it leads to plenty (Proverbs 21:5). Whatever the amount is – have the plan in place, work the plan and be obedient to it. Start there.

VISION

Next, ask God to give you a vision for what He could do through you with His help. This is beyond what you can do with your natural income. This requires you to take a step of faith. Additionally, Habakkuk 2:2 tells us to write that vision down and pray about it! God will supply all your needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Stepping out in faith pleases God. When you look at what He has in His hands, it goes to another level!

DREAM

Lastly, what would be a dream amount you could give? Hold on to it. This number is only between you and God. Watch as each step of faith you take, God moves you closer to that dream. God can do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask for or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

Now, more than ever, make a plan to give and ask God for a vision in your generosity. Hold on to the dream of what God will do as you step out in faith!

“God’s eyes are on those who follow Him – those who are ready to advance His Kingdom to encourage, to support and to strengthen. He will find you!”
Shane Williamson, FCA

Biblical Foundation

All throughout Scripture, you can see God’s heart for the world and the nations. In fact, there are 1600 Bible verses that show God’s passion for the world. From Genesis to Revelation, God’s desire is to make Himself known and show His love to all people on earth.

In John 3:16, it says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only son.”

Christ’s last words, known as the Great Commission, can be found in Acts 1:8. He says, “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

These words of Christ are our common mission as followers of Jesus. Our ultimate

goal found in Scripture is depicted in Revelation 7:9-10, where it says that “every tribe and nation would gather around the throne of Jesus, giving Him all of the praise and worship.”

Simply put, the aim of “missions” is to see God’s glory and the gospel advancement among all nations and people on earth.

If God’s heart is for the world and the nations, are our heart’s in alignment with His mission? As followers of Jesus, we should be on mission for Him so that all may know and worship Him.

Here at Chapelhill Church, our heart is global because God’s heart is global.
