She spent one year to learn English in ESL program in Tennessee and took some interior design courses at University of Tennessee. In 2013, she moved to San Francisco from Tennessee to pursue her Interior and Architectural Design degree.

Along all the learning process, this makes her truly in love with interior architectural design. Her dream is to help people create a welcoming home that can reflect their personalities and make their visions come true.

In her design journey, she has engaged in diverse projects, ranging from the redesign of single-family homes, creating valuable ADU additions and reshaping layouts in multifamily complexes to meet city regulatory standards. she has also contributed to the design of a restaurant that brought the client's vision to life. With proficiency in ArchiCAD from a previous role, she has honed her skills in creating ADAcompliant floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations,

sections, and FF&E. Collaborating directly with design leads and MEP engineers, compiling comprehensive construction documents for city submissions, ensuring timely project completion. Proficient in ArchiCAD and experienced in Revit for 2D and 3D designs, along with expertise in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, her versatile skill set includes project management, multitasking, prioritizing, teamwork, and a dedication to quality – all naturally aligned with the role of an interior designer. She is confident in her ability and can-do attitude to excel by leveraging her current skills and acquiring new knowledge to meet the needs of design firm.

Relocating to Greater Boston due to her partner's career, she underwent a brief career pause during which she utilized the opportunity to embrace fresh challenges and expand her skill set through workshops and courses in IT and web development. She is now prepared to explore new opportunities and join supportive teams as an interior designer to advance her career..

oyce Chen was born in Taipei City, Taiwan. Her childhood exposure to her father's work in the construction field inspired her to pursue Interior and Architectural Design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Located in South San Mateo, CA, the 1718 Shoreview Ave project aimed to expand living space next to 1726 Shoreview Ave. This involved adding a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit with an open layout and a spacious kitchen. The design featured a gable roof for a roomy feel, along with attic storage. To brighten the space, we incorporated clearstory windows above the kitchen area and dual fixed trapezoid windows along the roofline, adding both style and privacy.

igently from inception to completion, we expanded the living space by adding a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit to the property located in South San Mateo, CA. This project involved the meticulous integration of a gable roof design to create an open, airy atmosphere and attic storage. Additionally, we introduced clearstory windows above the kitchen area, which invited abundant natural sunlight into the space. Moreover, dual fixed trapezoid windows along the roofline were strategically placed to not only enhance the project's aesthetics but also maintain privacy for the homeowners.

TRUFFLE POKÉ BAR

Truffle Poké Bar was a commercial project where I served as the designer from start to finish.

Throughout the project, I took on the responsibility of design development, addressing the client's needs and ensuring accessible paths for wheelchair users, meeting the city's requirements. This involved a careful assessment of the layout, determining designated routes within the building and garage area. Additionally, I developed detailed specifications for industry-specific devices required for the restaurant, considering equipment and systems that would optimize its operations.

COMMERCIAL• 101 OYSTER POINT BLVD

Truffle Poké Bar, located in South San Francisco, CA, emerged as the second poké bar restaurant in the Bay Area, successfully navigating the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The primary project objective was to transform an empty space into a thriving commercial establishment, emphasizing functional interior design to meet the fast-paced demands of modern life. Key aspects included designing the kitchen for optimal functionality, considering the limitations of the available space. Moreover, creating a comfortable and efficient dining area for customers was prioritized, focusing on enhancing the overall flow and customer experience. This endeavor also entailed fulfilling industry standards and ensuring compliance with ADA codes and health department requirements.
