“I am the head of my family under the guidance of GOD.”
1. What are you looking forward to the most as a new father? I’m looking forward to the experience of having a child and being there for every moment; seeing my baby girl grow up
2. How will you balance spoiling her and discipline? I will try to keep open communication, teaching her right from wrong and try to award good behavior and smart decisions.
3. What is your promise to your daughter? To protect her, provide for her and make sure she knows her worth.
4. If you could choose one of your character traits to give to your daughter,
which one would it be? I would have to say my love for family, because that’s the most important aspect of life.
Court ordered child support Is it fair?
When asking this question, you must first understand that unfortunately there are two different views, a female's perspective and a man’s perspective. This is because in most cases it’s the male on child support and the female on the receiving end. Who fault is this? Some may say the Father, some may say the Mother and others may say the system. Research shows that all three parties play a significant role. Some Fathers don’t support their kids at all financially. Some Mothers lie and say the Father doesn't support his kids. The system fails to Investigate and find the truth. So how do we fix something that’s been broken for so long. Simple, Mother’s be honest about the support you receive from the Father. Father’s support your children whether you're in the home or not. Now the tricky part is trying to fix the system. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of discussion on the revision of child support from the people in leadership. We did a small poll and found out a lot of people believe that the consequences for non-payment of child support is to harsh. I understand that both Fathers and Mothers should support their children equally, but in this corrupted world that is not the case. Everyone should take responsibility for the child they created. Child support was created in 1975 to replace welfare by getting support from the non-custodial parent and ultimately reduce applications for assistance. So much has changed since 1975, so I believe the system needs to be revised and not bias, because at the end of the day this is about supporting the children, not being vindictive or trying to avoid your responsibilities, just genuinely doing what's right for the children.
We asked 20 people these questions:
1) Is the consequence for non-payment of child support to harsh?( License suspension, jail time) 2) Are there more African American men on child support than other races? 3) Are the laws to lenient on noncustodial parents who owe child support?(back pay) 4) Is it fair for the judge to take the word of the custodial parent regarding back pay? (“ He’s never done anything”)
