Summer is finally here!
While many of us look forward to vacations, road trips, and time away from our daily routines, I want to encourage you to make one of your summer destinations our incredible local business community.
Some of my favorite summer memories aren't from faraway places they're from discovering a new restaurant with friends, finding the perfect gift at a local boutique, enjoying a cool treat on a hot Arizona afternoon, or spending a Saturday morning exploring Chandler’s tourist scene
One of the things that makes Chandler so special is the passion and dedication of the entrepreneurs, business owners, and employees who work every day to create unique experiences for all of us. Every time we choose to shop, dine, or do business locally, we're investing in the people and businesses that help our community thrive.
This summer, I challenge you to be a tourist in your own town. Try that restaurant you've been meaning to visit. Stop into a locally owned shop you've driven by a hundred times. Treat yourself to coffee, ice cream, or lunch at a Chamber member business You might just discover your new favorite spot
As you enjoy the season, remember that supporting local doesn't just strengthen our economy it helps create the vibrant, connected community we all love to call home.
Wishing you a fun, relaxing, and adventure-filled summer!

In today's competitive workforce market, employers are utilizing a variety of strategies to attract talent, including employee referrals, social media, networking, educational partnerships, and online job boards.

While national job sites can provide broad exposure, local job boards offer a unique advantage: they connect employers directly with job seekers who are already invested in the community. For employers, that can translate into stronger candidate pools and greater long-term retention.
The Chandler Job Board is a valuable resource to bridge the gap between employers and local talent. Whether you’re hiring for an entry-level role, a skilled position, or a leadership opportunity, the Chandler Job Board provides another avenue to reach qualified candidates who are seeking opportunities in Chandler.

Beyond simply filling open roles, hiring locally benefits more than just individual businesses. It strengthens our workforce, supports economic growth, and helps create a thriving community where businesses and residents can succeed together.
As you evaluate your recruitment strategy, consider adding the Chandler Chamber Job Board to your talent attraction toolkit. It is a simple, cost-effective way to increase visibility for your open positions and connect with the workforce your business needs to grow.
For one evening each year, Chandler pauses to celebrate something bigger than business success, civic achievement, or individual recognition. It celebrates the people behind it all.
The Chandler Chamber of Commerce's 39th Annual Community Awards brought together hundreds of business leaders, educators, nonprofit professionals, public servants, elected officials, and community champions for an evening dedicated to honoring those whose contributions help make Chandler one of Arizona's most vibrant and connected communities.
Held under this year's Denim & Diamonds theme, the event transformed into more than an awards ceremony; it became a celebration of the people who quietly and consistently invest in the success of others. From educators shaping future generations and entrepreneurs creating opportunity to nonprofit leaders serving those in need and public servants strengthening our quality of life, the evening highlighted the many ways leadership takes shape throughout our community.

Throughout the evening, award recipients took the stage to accept honors recognizing excellence across education, business, community service, public safety, and civic leadership Yet while the awards celebrated individual achievement, the underlying story was one of collective impact. Each recipient represented countless hours of service, leadership, innovation, and commitment to making Chandler stronger for future generations.
That spirit was evident throughout the night as attendees reconnected with colleagues, celebrated friends and peers, and shared in moments of laughter, pride, and inspiration. The energy in the room reflected a community that understands success is best celebrated together.
For nearly four decades, the Community Awards have served as one of Chandler's premier celebrations of excellence. More than a tradition, the event has become a reflection of the values that define our city: service, leadership, collaboration, and a commitment to helping others succeed.
As the evening came to a close, one message remained clear: Chandler's greatest strength is not found in its buildings, businesses, or accolades. It is found in its people.
And for one unforgettable evening, those people received the recognition they so richly deserve.

Whether navigating a corporate shift or engaging the community, a leader’s ability to communicate dictates whether an organization will thrive, survive, or dive. To explore "the good, the bad, and the ugly" of modern storytelling, the Leadership Institute Class 42 gathered for an intensive, behind-the-scenes Media Day in downtown Chandler
The day began at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center with Molly Hudson, a journalist from ABC15, who pulled back the curtain on how newsrooms operate and how leaders can authentically engage with broadcast media.
The focus shifted to organizational positioning. Chandler has always been a city that plans ahead and that’s exactly what we’re doing with our updated General Plan, which will appear on the July 21 Primary Election ballot as Proposition 415.
At its core, the General Plan is our community’s roadmap for the future. It helps guide how we grow, where we invest and how we maintain the high quality of life that makes Chandler such a great place to live and do business
This latest update reflects a lot of input from residents, business owners and community partners like the Chandler Chamber. For our business community, this plan really matters. It helps create the kind of predictability and stability that businesses rely on when making decisions about where to invest, expand or relocate. It identifies key areas for future job growth, supports continued development of office and industrial space and prioritizes infrastructure improvements that keep our city moving efficiently
It also reinforces something we all care about: keeping Chandler economically strong and diverse. Whether it supports small businesses, encourages entrepreneurship or continues to attract major employers, the General Plan helps ensure we remain competitive in a fastchanging economy. You’ll see a focus on creating more walkable, mixed-use areas that bring energy and connectivity to our community, something that benefits both residents and local businesses.
One of the things I appreciate most about this process is how collaborative it has been This isn’t just a city document It’s a shared vision shaped by the people who live and work here Use the QR code to access the General Plan update.
Many of you wear both hats. You’re business leaders, and you’re also Chandler residents. That’s why I encourage you to take a few minutes to learn more about Proposition 415 and what it means for our community.
Chandler’s success has always come from strong partnerships and thoughtful planning This is one more opportunity to help shape what comes next

As more couples move away from mass-produced jewelry and online-only shopping experiences, many are turning to local jewelers who can provide a more personal and customized engagement ring experience. At Christopher Fine Diamonds in Chandler, we have seen a major increase in couples seeking custom engagement rings designed specifically for their relationship, style, and budget.
For over 21 years, Christopher Fine Diamonds has helped East Valley couples create one-of-a-kind engagement rings through a private consultation process that focuses on education, transparency, and craftsmanship. Clients can explore natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, fancy shape diamonds, and custom settings while working directly with experienced jewelry professionals in a relaxed, appointment-based showroom environment.

One of the biggest trends we are seeing is couples wanting to be involved in the design process itself. Christopher Fine Diamonds offers one of Arizona’s only in-person CAD jewelry design experiences, allowing clients to view and modify their ring designs before production begins. This creates a highly personalized experience while helping clients feel confident in such an important purchase.
In addition to custom engagement rings, Christopher Fine Diamonds also specializes in wedding bands, anniversary jewelry, gemstone jewelry, jewelry repair, and custom redesigns of heirloom pieces. The company has become known throughout Chandler and the East Valley for its customer service, private appointments, and extensive selection of both lab-grown and natural diamonds.
As a family-owned Chandler business, Christopher Fine Diamonds is proud to continue serving local couples during some of life’s most meaningful moments.

Salt River Project (SRP) today announced an agreement with NextEra Energy Resources to develop 3,000 megawatts (MW) of new solar generation by the end of 2034, or enough capacity to power 595,000 Arizona homes.

The solar development agreement will support SRP’s plan to more than double the capacity of its power system by 2035 while maintaining reliability and affordability and making continued progress toward its sustainability goals. SRP’s plan includes the addition of thousands of megawatts of renewable energy, including solar, as well as natural gas and battery energy storage resources.
The agreement calls for the construction of 500 MW of solar per year from 2029 through 2034. The projects developed under this agreement will deliver low-cost energy for SRP customers and create long-term community benefits across Arizona.
“We look forward to working with NextEra Energy Resources to add the magnitude of new solar energy we need at the pace required to meet the increasing energy demand of our customers,” said Bobby Olsen, SRP Associate General Manager and Chief Power System Executive. “This approach will allow us to collaborate early in the project development process to minimize project risk and ensure the best outcomes for our customers and the communities where we operate.”
NextEra Energy Resources has already developed more than 1,000 MW of resources across five projects currently serving SRP customers including Sonoran Solar Energy Center, Storey Energy Center, Saint Solar Energy Center, Pinal Central Energy Center and Babbitt Ranch Energy Center.
“As America’s largest energy infrastructure builder, we are uniquely positioned to meet SRP’s needs,” said Brian Bolster, NextEra Energy Resources President and CEO. “We are excited to continue building on our long-standing relationship with SRP and to continue to invest in Arizona to help power the state’s growth with lowcost solar power.”
NextEra Energy Resources was selected through an SRP Request for Proposals issued in 2024.The solar development agreement will complement SRP’s existing procurement and self-build processes. It does not replace SRP’s All-Source Request for Proposals process.
SRP has more than 3,000 MW of carbon-free resources currently serving its customers, including more than 1,500 MW of solar and more than 1,570 MW of battery storage supporting its grid. SRP also has more solar energy and storage capacity under development.
SRP is a community-based, not-for-profit public power utility and the largest electricity provider in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, serving about 1.1 million customers. SRP provides water to about 2.5 million Valley residents, delivering 260 billion gallons of water (800,000 acre-feet) each year, and manages a 13,000-square-mile watershed that includes an extensive system of reservoirs, wells, irrigation laterals, and 131 miles of canals.
