When you look back at a year, you realize how much can happen in 12 months. 2025 was packed for the Chandler Chamber, and none of it would’ve been possible without you. The Community Awards program awarded 3 scholarships to Chandler-Gilbert Community College students building Arizona’s future workforce. Our Executive & Industry Roundtables brought together leadership from aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and hospitality for closed-door sessions tackling real challenges. Then we honored the city’s 100 largest employers at our Chandler 100 dinner with a pop art theme inside Quantum Helicopter’s aircraft hangar. Talk about a venue. The Chandler Chamber’s recent Women in Leadership event, Business Runs in the Family, brought together an inspiring group of local family-owned businesses for an honest and thoughtful conversation about what it truly takes to build something that lasts. Panelists from Florindino’s Pizza & Pasta, SoHo63, Von Hanson’s Meats, and Copper Brim Hat Co. shared personal stories of entrepreneurship, highlighting the balance between honoring tradition and embracing innovation. From navigating generational transitions to managing challenges unique to family dynamics, the discussion offered real-world insights and practical wisdom. Hosted at SoHo63, the event created space for meaningful dialogue, thoughtful questions, and strong community connection. Attendees left with a deeper appreciation for the role family businesses play in shaping Chandler’s economy and culture. Bus Tour Recap:

A Showcase of Growth and Development The Chandler Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Bus Tour on Tuesday, December 9, offering local business leaders a firsthand look at the economic development shaping the city. The four-hour tour began at Chandler Fashion Center and traveled through several of Chandler’s fastestgrowing corridors. Attendees toured key commercial and infrastructure projects while learning about strategic growth initiatives that continue to position Chandler as a major economic hub in the East Valley. Participants visited multiple sites throughout the city, where city leaders, developers, and economic development officials shared updates on active and planned projects. Briefings focused on development timelines, anticipated economic impact, zoning considerations, and infrastructure investments supporting continued business expansion. Speakers also addressed how growth is being managed alongside transportation planning and community needs. The tour encouraged discussion and engagement, with attendees asking questions related to traffic flow, development impacts, and opportunities for business involvement in expanding areas. These conversations provided valuable insight into how development decisions are made and how Chandler is planning for sustainable growth.

Dr. A.J. Chandler Park Renovation Begins Jan. 12 The city of Chandler has contracted with Willmeng Construction for comprehensive improvements to Dr. A.J. Chandler Park, located on both sides of Arizona Avenue between Buffalo and Boston streets. The park hosts many of Chandler’s signature special events and festivals and was last renovated in 1986. Downtown Chandler has transformed significantly since then, with the addition of multifamily housing, office space and an expanded roster of retailers and restaurants. The park now hosts more than 100 events annually. Construction begins Monday, Jan. 12, with the park perimeter on both sides of Arizona Avenue being fenced to establish a safe work zone. Two-way traffic will be maintained on adjacent streets throughout the construction period. Parking along Arizona Avenue will be limited during this time; however, downtown parking structures and surface street parking remain accessible. Park improvements on the west side of Arizona Avenue are expected to be complete before the 2026 holiday season, with the east side scheduled for completion by early spring 2027. As downtown Chandler continues to serve as a premier destination for residents and visitors, the renovations will enhance the experience for all who gather in this central community space.

The start of a new year begs for reflection and plans. We make promises and resolutions and say things like, “This year will be THE year.” But unless you win the lottery, making this year radically different requires work and change. Those two things aren’t always easy or sustainable, especially when you’re looking at revenue goals, marketing plans, staffing realities, and that lingering question in the back of your mind: How do I grow without burning myself out? We have an easy answer to that question. If you’re a chamber member, there’s a good chance you aren’t making the most of your benefits. We get it. Life gets in the way. You’re busy. Maybe you attend an event here and there. You skim the emails. You tell yourself you’ll “use it more this year.” This is that year. Because chambers in 2026 aren’t just about ribbon cuttings and business cards. Chambers are quietly helping businesses solve real problems.

Here are six ways to tap into that value in a strategic way that makes the most of your limited time. 1. Turn Visibility Into Credibility Marketing is noisy. Consumers are skeptical. Trust is currency. One of the most underrated benefits of your chamber is third-party credibility. When your business is featured in a chamber newsletter, social post, directory, or event spotlight, yo u’re borrowing trust that’s already been earned. You’re being seen in the right places and the “company you keep” has a great reputation. Make it a habit this year to say yes when your chamber asks for member features, testimonials, or spotlights. And if they don’t ask, raise your hand. Visibility compounds when it’s consistent.

2. Use Education to Stay Relevant (Without Going Back to School) You don’t need another generic webinar. You need insight that applies to your market, your customers, and your challenges. Chambers bring in experts on topics like AI,

Chamber Education workforce trends, marketing shifts, local regulations, and leadership. The advantage is context. These sessions aren’t abstract. They’re grounded in what’s happening right outside your door. It’s difficult to get that anywhere else.

5. Build Community, Not Just Contacts Business ownership can be isolating. If your social circle doesn’t include business owners, you can feel misunderstood.

Instead of chasing every online trend in 2026, choose one or two chamber programs that sharpen your skills where it matters most. Think of it as professional development without the fluff.

3. Leverage the Chamber as a Connector, Not a Crowd Networking doesn’t have to mean working the room like it’s speed dating. (Although feel free to do that if you enjoy it.)

Chambers create space for peer-to-peer learning, shared challenges, and honest conversations. Sometimes the most valuable takeaway from an event isn’t a lead. It’s realizing you’re not the only one navigating a tough season or a big decision. Resilience comes from relationships as much as strategy. Use your chamber to build a community that supports you when things get complicated.

6. Think Long-Term, Not Transactional

One of the smartest ways to use your chamber is behind the scenes. Staff and board members know who’s growing, who’s hiring, who’s struggling, and who’s looking for partnerships. If you need an introduction to a lender, vendor, collaborator, or even a future client, ask. Chambers exist to connect dots. You don’t have to draw the map alone. Intentional introductions outperform random handshakes every time.

4. Get a Seat at the Table Before Decisions Are Made Regulations, policies, zoning changes, and local initiatives don’t appear overnight. They’re discussed long before they’re decided. Your chamber tracks those conversations so you don’t have to. More importantly, they advocate for business voices to be included.

The biggest return on chamber membership rarely shows up in one month. People often expect instantaneous results, but there is action required. When your business becomes known from those actions (showing up, being a part of the conversations, etc.), people refer you without being asked. Opportunities come your way because you’re visible, involved, and trusted. Treat your chamber like a long-term growth partner, not a vending machine. Engage consistently. Show up where it makes sense. Use the resources already built for you. The New Year doesn’t have to be about doing more. Instead, you can use what you already have, better. Think of chamber membership like the wind. It’s blowing whether you harness it or not. But if you shift your sails slightly to leverage its power, you can go where you want to a lot faster.

Even if you never attend a council meeting, your membership helps ensure someone is asking, “How does this impact local employers?” That kind of representation is hard to quantify until you need it. Then it matters a lot.

Join me at Chandler’s State of the City Address

By: Mayor Kevin Hartke As I am preparing for my final State of the City address on February 12, 2026, at the Chandler Center for the Arts, I’m filled with immense gratitude for the people and partnerships that have shaped our city’s remarkable story. During my years serving Chandler as a councilmember and, now as mayor, I’ve witnessed firsthand how our community thrives when businesses, nonprofits and government work together and serve our residents with a shared vision.

Chandler’s success has always been rooted in collaboration, and the Chandler Chamber of Commerce has been an essential partner in driving our economic growth and innovation. Together, we’ve cultivated a resilient, forward-focused economy built on responsible planning, visionary leadership and a deep respect for our hometown values. The past year was a testament to Chandler’s innovative spirit. We celebrated business expansion and investments, particularly in advanced manufacturing, advanced business services and exciting retail projects. The Price Corridor continued to attract world-class employers, strengthening Chandler’s role as a global hub for semiconductor research and development. Small businesses and entrepreneurs flourished as well, supported by new workforce development programs connecting local talent with opportunity. We also made strategic investments in infrastructure, water resources, public safety and parks, ensuring our city remains positioned for sustainable growth. These efforts enhance our quality of life and keep Chandler one of the best places in America to live, work and raise a family. This upcoming State of the City will be more than a report on our progress; it will be a celebration of shared achievements. We will honor the partnerships that keep Chandler safe, the creativity that drives our workforce and the compassion that defines our neighborhoods. I invite Chandler Chamber members and business stakeholders from across the region to join me as we reflect on how far we’ve come and look ahead to the opportunities before us. Lynne and I have called Chandler home since 1985, and serving this community remains one of the greatest privileges of my life. Chandler Regional Medical Center Earns Top Teaching Hospital Recognition Dignity Health Chandler Regional Medical Center has been named a Top Teaching Hospital by The Leapfrog Group, earning one of the most competitive honors for safety and quality in healthcare. The national recognition places Chandler Regional among an elite group of 73 Top Teaching Hospitals selected from more than 2,400 U.S. hospitals evaluated for the award. A total of 156 Top Hospitals were recognized across all categories. “We are immensely proud to be recognized as a leading teaching hospital,” said Dr. Mario Garner, President of Dignity Health East Valley. “This honor reflects our unwavering commitment to cultivating the next generation of physicians, empowering them with advanced tools, technologies, and facilities, all within a foundation of humankindness.” Chandler Regional serves as a local teaching hospital for graduate medical education students through the Creighton University East Valley Arizona program. The facility offers residencies in emergency medicine, family medicine, general surgery, internal medicine and OBGYN. The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog organization, evaluates hospitals based on their ability to protect patients from preventable harm, including accidents, injuries and infections. The Top Hospital award requires facilities to publicly report their performance through the Leapfrog Hospital Survey and meet rigorous standards covering infection rates, maternity care, medication error prevention and other critical benchmarks. This achievement underscores Chandler Regional’s commitment to training highly skilled clinicians while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care quality in the community.

She enjoys helping people create and maintain healthy sustainable lifestyles with Arbonne. She teaches easy health habits, educates on personal care products and creates plans for her client’s specific needs. She enjoys being the connector to people and businesses. As chamber ambassador and mentor to new businesses she helps them navigate through chamber. Outside of business Crystal enjoys working on causes for special needs children and animal rescues.
