Getting to know the CHAMBER BOARD

Rick Heumann is a long time Chandler resident with a prolific background in community service and civic engagement. The former Chandler Vice Mayor and Councilmember served on the City Council from 2008-2016. Rick is the current chairperson of the City of Chandler Planning and Zoning Commission. During his Council tenure he created the Chandler Education Coalition, that led to the creation of the popular Chandler Science Spectacular technology festival. He was also integral in working with the Coalition to develop the Read On Chandler early stage literacy campaign.

Additionally, he has served in a number of appointed capacities on both the local and regional levels, including six years on the Board of the Arizona Municipal Water Users Association where he held the longest tenured position as the association’s president.

Kurt has lived in Arizona for more than 50 years and in Chandler since 1996. In 1989, Kurt started his banking career at United Bank of Arizona and over the past 30+ years, Kurt has remained in banking, currently working as Director of Commercial Lending for Western State Bank here in Chandler. Kurt and his wife Stacy have 3 kids, all attending Chandler public schools. In addition to serving on the Chandler Chamber Board of Directors, Kurt serves on the Chandler City IDA Board and is currently in his seventh straight year of serving on the board for the Chandler Compadres.

Andrea Marconi is an experienced litigator in the Fennemore Craig Dowling Aaron business litigation legal services group. Andrea knew early on her calling was to be an attorney. She has always loved analyzing problems, and arguing with her father – and often winning – at the kitchen table. As a business litigation attorney, she now advises a diverse group of clients, including individuals, small and mid sizes businesses, and Fortune 500 companies. She continues to study the art and science of disagreements, and how to best solve them, which is often conducive to long-term relationships with her clients.

Nichols is a successful business entrepreneur who has owned and operated small businesses for over 20 years. He also served four terms in the Arizona House of Representatives. While in the House, he worked with many diverse groups to build consensus and pass legislation. He served as Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee and Rules Committee and had bills signed by Governor Janet Napolitano and Governor Jan Brewer. Warde has the proven ability to successfully bring groups together to focus on solutions to current challenges we face.

At ASU, Warde works closely with various business and civic organizations throughout the East Valley and Pinal County and acts as a liaison with state and local governments. He is a lifelong learner and loves learning and growing with his work at ASU. He volunteers at his local church and serves as a volunteer EMT-Firefighter.
