Terri Kimble President | CEO

here is a lot to celebrate in Chandler, and this November, we’re bringing our business community together for one of my favorite celebrations of the year: Chandler 100. Join us on Thursday, November 19, at Quantum Helicopters as we recognize companies that are making a difference in our community. Whether they have been part of Chandler for decades or are helping lead our next chapter, these businesses represent the creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit that make Chandler such a great place to live and work.

“These businesses represent the creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit that make Chandler such a great place to live and work.” This year’s celebration also gives us a chance to look beyond Chandler and celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. It’s a fitting theme as we recognize the people and businesses whose hard work, determination and ideas continue to shape our community and our country. We’ll also be celebrating with A Taste of Chandler, featuring some of the local restaurants and eateries that make our city unique. It will be a fun evening filled with great food, great company and plenty to celebrate. I hope you’ll join us as we raise a glass to the businesses that help make Chandler what it is today and what it will become tomorrow.

Message from the Board Chair

L Andrea Marconi

Director, Fennemore Craig 2026 Board Chair

et’s be honest: finding and keeping great people is not getting any easier.

Whether you’re running a small business with a handful of employees or a large company with hundreds of people, talent is one of the biggest factors in your ability to grow. At the same time, our students are preparing for careers that are changing faster than ever. So how do we connect the two? That’s the conversation we’re bringing to the table at the Chandler Chamber’s Talent & Workforce Summit on Wednesday, November 4, at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. We’re excited to welcome the U.S. Chamber Foundation as a featured speaker, giving us a chance to hear what they’re seeing across the country and how those workforce trends connect to what we’re experiencing here in Chandler.

“Our workforce is one of Chandler’s greatest assets.” We’ll also hear from education and business leaders about early childhood education, K-12 education, the skills gap and what employers can do to build stronger talent pipelines. We’ll get practical about internships, company culture, talent attraction and retention, too. This isn’t meant to be a morning of talking about problems and sending everyone home with more questions. It’s an opportunity to share what’s working, hear different perspectives and leave with ideas we can actually put into practice. Our workforce is one of Chandler’s greatest assets. Let’s talk about how we continue to strengthen it. I hope you’ll join us November 4.

Leadership Institute Explores Chandler’s Infrastructure and Environmental Systems “The experience provided a unique behind-the-scenes look at the infrastructure that residents depend on daily but rarely see in action.”

P

articipants in the Leadership Institute recently took part in Infrastructure and Environment Day, an immersive experience designed to provide a deeper understanding of the systems that support Chandler’s growth, sustainability, and quality of life. The day offered firsthand exposure to the infrastructure, utilities, technology, transportation, and environmental resources that keep the community running efficiently. The program began with a visit to Air Products, where participants learned about the critical role industrial gas production plays in supporting advanced manufacturing and semiconductor operations throughout the region. Through presentations and facility tours, attendees gained insight into the sophisticated processes, safety standards, and technological innovation required to support one of Arizona’s fastest-growing industries. The class then traveled to the Ocotillo Water Reclamation Facility to learn about water management and sustainability efforts within the community. Participants heard from local public works and utility leaders about the challenges and opportunities associated with managing water resources in the desert Southwest. A tour of the facility highlighted the complex treatment process used to reclaim and reuse water, reinforcing the importance of conservation and environmental stewardship. The next stop focused on digital infrastructure with a visit to Digital Realty. Through presentations and tours, participants explored the role data centers play in the modern economy. Discussions centered on the growing

24

demand for data storage, connectivity, cybersecurity, and the critical infrastructure that supports businesses, residents, and emerging technologies throughout the Valley. Following lunch, the group shifted its attention to energy and leadership development. Participants learned about regional power generation, energy reliability, and the importance of planning for future growth. The afternoon also included a leadership session focused on strategic thinking and decision-making, encouraging participants to consider how community leaders balance competing priorities while planning for long-term success. The day concluded with a visit to the City’s Transportation Department, where participants explored advancements in traffic management and intelligent transportation systems. A tour of the traffic control center demonstrated how technology is used to monitor roadway conditions, improve traffic flow, and enhance public safety across Chandler. The experience provided a unique behind-the-scenes look at the infrastructure that residents depend on daily but rarely see in action. Infrastructure and Environment Day highlighted the collaboration between public agencies, utility providers, and private industry partners that contribute to Chandler’s continued prosperity. Participants left with a greater appreciation for the planning, innovation, and leadership required to support a growing community while protecting valuable environmental resources for future generations.

Mayor’s Article

Chandler Chamber Connect

Chandler’s Global Connections Create Local Opportunity By: Mayor Kevin Hartke

Chandler’s technology economy was built through vision, investment and relationships that reach beyond Arizona. That was clear during my visit to Taiwan with city leaders and representatives from the Greater Phoenix Economic Council and Arizona Commerce Authority.

companies need to succeed. That creates dialogue that can lead to new investments, quality jobs and partnerships for our community.

This mission demonstrated the power of regional and statewide collaboration. GPEC represents Greater Phoenix to companies considering investment, while the Arizona Commerce Authority recruits and supports businesses statewide.

Taiwan’s semiconductor ecosystem demonstrates how industry, education and government can work together over many years to cultivate talent, support innovation and strengthen supply chains. Chandler and the Greater Phoenix region are applying those same lessons as we prepare students and workers for the high-value careers being created across Arizona.

By presenting a united Arizona message, our communities can compete effectively on the global stage. That teamwork gives prospective employers a clear pathway to the sites, talent, infrastructure and public partners they need to invest with confidence.

Economic development is ultimately about people. International missions create relationships, and relationships open doors for local businesses, entrepreneurs, students and residents. Our work now is to turn those conversations into opportunities.

Our delegation of more than 100 government, business, education and workforce leaders attended SEMICON Taiwan, one of the world’s most influential gatherings for the semiconductor industry. We connected with companies across the global supply chain and participated in discussions focused on technology, investment, workforce development, artificial intelligence and semiconductor production.

The trip included a meaningful visit to Tainan, which has shared a Friendly City relationship with Chandler since 2016. Mayor Huang Wei-che and I reflected on a decade of exchanges and discussed expanding cooperation in economic development, technology, culture, sports and student engagement. Our two cities share a remarkable journey: both grew from agricultural roots and developed into important centers of semiconductor activity.

Those conversations matter in Chandler. Intel, Microchip and a growing network of suppliers have made our city a center for advanced manufacturing and innovation. When we meet directly with international business leaders, we tell Chandler’s story and demonstrate that we understand what

Chandler has long embraced innovation while preserving the community qualities that make our city exceptional. Strengthening our partnerships with Taiwan and Tainan will help us carry that tradition forward and ensure Chandler remains a place where advanced industries, businesses and people can thrive.

Nonprofit Blueprint Cohort Spotlight

Chandler is home to more than 1,000 nonprofits that play a vital role in strengthening our community. To help emerging organizations overcome common challenges such as limited capacity, funding constraints, and governance needs, the Nonprofit Blueprint provides a strong foundation for sustainable growth. Through a partnership between the City of Chandler and the Chandler Chamber, participants gain practical guidance from experienced nonprofit, civic, and business leaders to help them build impact and achieve long-term success. For more information and program details, please visit our website.

BAM Foundation

The BAM Foundation is a boots-on-the-ground Chandler nonprofit helping young people build financial confidence and see what's possible for their futures. Founded by two people who saw a need and couldn't walk away, BAM is run entirely by its founders, who build every program while working full-time jobs. Working alongside the City of Chandler, its Road to Riches financial wellness program teaches students budgeting, credit, and money management, while the Morel Mushroom Mentorship & Scholarship Program connects them with mentors and helps remove financial barriers to education. Looking ahead, BAM hopes to reach more students and one day create a community hub offering financial education, mentorship, workforce development, and sports under one roof. Community members can get involved by donating, mentoring, volunteering, sponsoring a student, joining the board, or helping connect BAM with schools and employers.

Sizzle Academy

Sizzle Academy is a Chandler nonprofit that uses sports as a gateway to whole-child development. While basketball, volleyball, and football bring families through the door, the organization serves as a true community hub, offering academic tutoring labs, career discovery panels, youth leadership programs, and weekend food and supply distributions. By removing financial barriers and pairing athletics with mentorship and structure, Sizzle Academy helps young people grow mentally, academically, and socially, both on and off the court. Looking ahead, the organization hopes to secure a permanent facility that brings all its programs under one roof and to hire its first paid staff. Community members can get involved by volunteering as mentors, tutors, or career panelists, sponsoring student-athlete scholarships and team travel, donating supplies, making tax-deductible gifts, or helping connect the organization with local venue space.

Advertising Nobody Can Scroll Past Did you know roughly a third of Americans block online ads, and consumers consistently rank outdoor ads as more favorable than social or online promotion? Digital billboards rotate your message with six to eight other advertisers. A Street Media AZ bus shelter poster is yours alone — 24 hours a day, 100% of the time, at Chandler's busiest intersections. Nielsen research for the Outdoor Advertising Association of America shows 90% of U.S. adults noticed out-of-home ads in the past month, and two-thirds of smartphone users took action afterward. Floor & Decor Chandler to Host Hands-On PRO Education Event for Local Contractors

F

loor & Decor’s Chandler location is inviting local flooring professionals and contractors to take part in an upcoming full-day PRO Education event focused on hands-on learning, technical training, and industry best practices.

Floor & Decor partners with leading trade organizations, including the National Wood Flooring Association and the National Tile Contractors Association, to bring regional training and workshop opportunities to stores across the country.

The event is designed to give local PROs practical information they can use in the field while also creating an opportunity to connect with industry experts and strengthen their knowledge of flooring installation standards and techniques.

The National Wood Flooring Association represents professionals throughout the hardwood flooring industry and works to advance the trade through education, training, standards, and best practices.

Attendance is limited to 25 participants, allowing for a more focused and interactive experience. Registration is $25, and the full registration fee will be refunded to attendees upon participation in the event. The Chandler event is part of Floor & Decor’s broader PRO Education initiative, which is focused on building stronger relationships with professional contractors through educational programming, hands-on training, and industry events.

The National Tile Contractors Association, established in 1947, supports professionals in the ceramic tile and natural stone industry through technical education, training, and the development of professional installation standards. For Chandler-area contractors, the upcoming event offers an opportunity to expand their technical knowledge, sharpen their skills, and learn more about current industry standards in an informative, hands-on setting. With only 25 spots available, interested contractors are encouraged to register early.

Downtown Chandler Construction Update T

he City of Chandler began construction in early 2026 for the Dr. A.J. Chandler Park Renovation project. Home to many of the city’s special events and festivals, the park was last renovated in 1986, and Downtown Chandler has changed significantly since that time. With the addition of multi-family housing, office space, and new retailers and restaurants, the park has also seen an increase in special events and entertainment, now with more than 100 events a year. The City of Chandler has contracted with Willmeng for improvements to Dr. A.J. Chandler Park, on both sides of Arizona Avenue, between Buffalo and Boston streets. Crews are working on either side of Arizona Avenue to install the HAWK pedestrian crossing system with crews scheduled to work on the west side of Arizona Avenue to install electric beginning Sept. 17 and following that, building pole foundations on the west side the week of Oct. 1. Crews will work on the east side of Arizona Avenue to install electric beginning Oct. 1.

East Side of Arizona Avenue:

Crews are currently working to install the soil cell system to serve future landscape. Scheduled to begin the week of Oct. 5, concrete crews will install sidewalk in the north area of the park site. During construction, parking along Arizona Avenue is limited and a few angled parking spaces along San Marcos and Arizona Place are not available; however, parking structures and surface street parking continue to offer parking throughout the downtown. Park improvements on the west side of Arizona Avenue are expected to be complete prior to the 2026 holiday season, and on the east side of Arizona Avenue by early spring 2027.

California Half-Street Improvements, Boston Street to Commonwealth Avenue (CA2501.401)

The City of Chandler has contracted with Achen-Gardner Construction to construct improvements to the east side of California Street, between Boston Street and Commonwealth Avenue. Work is nearing completion with landscape restoration currently in progress.
