Self Introduction

HELLO!

My name is Chan Wing Yi. You can call me Ada. I have studied interior design in Taiwan for 3 years. Living and studying abroad is difficult and busy. However, I am so enjoy to learn many knowledge and concept about interior design during the design process. Also, I am enjoy to get a sense of accomplishment form the design result. And I am so happy to meeting a lot of cute and interesting people in Taiwan.

Eating is the most important in life, there are the most chance of communication.

Materials And Color

Wood is a soft material so it must be a good choice for a home. And ivory is warmer than white so i choose it for the wall to make the family talk together comfortably at home.

A window design lead sunlight into room and have an interaction between living room and bedroom.

For making a smooth traffic flow, there is a door between master bedroom and bedroom to open the wall of the two rooms. Therefore, mother can do housework more convenient.

-physical model making-

Creating physical models of interior design projects in school can enhance presentation skills. By incorporating the physical model into a presentation, students can showcase their design concepts in a more tangible and engaging way. And i believe the combination of the physical model and presentation can leave a lasting impression on the clience, which can be especially helpful to present the design with clience.

Requirement: the first store open in Taiwan

Proposal

Before commercial space design, give the brand i choose an analysis is good to spread out design concept and style.

About the brand analysis, content include the business philosophy,brand background, brand style and market analysis...

The most important is give a design proposal.

‘Sand’ and ‘stone’ are HAIGHT’s style elements, so i use these to develop my design concept.

‘Sand’ and ‘Sea’ mean free. 'stone' means women body shape.

About 'stone', i use ‘weathering processed’ to express in my design.

For the design concept, i hope the women will think that she is perfect after dressing HAIGHT’s swimsuit and understand whatever fat or short, they are beautiful also like the original stone.

Concept Transformation

I put my sketching concept into the floorplan, such as the 'sand and sea' for the fittiing room because i assume women will feel free when they dress the swimsuit by HAIGHT. In fitting room, there is a large mirror to spread the space like the sea. And for the 'sand', it is a process of awareness learning. So i combine it with shopping area and service area. Therefore, the clience, who come in, can learn how to appreciate yourself during the shopping process.

LED materials and color

Using many types and different colour stone in my design to match for concept and brand style.

Providing an intimate service for customers. Therefore, it can make sure coustomers buy a swimsuit to fit in body perfectly .

-general view- a story about an inheritance of traditional culture... information

Considering this is the first store of HAIGHT open in Taiwan. As a designer need to make sure, whether Taiwanese like wester-style swimsuit? For the reson, it will be run and sell as a flagship store. In the same time, customers can have a intimate and different shopping experience.

Requirement: a fusion restaurant - calligraphy × omakase

Proposal

YIMO is a new catering brand. So i need to design a new brand identity for YIMO. Also, i should think about TA, business model and maketing analysis in the proposal.

Reason For Founding

The clients are father and son who love chinese calligraphy. The father have a devotion in cultural heritage. So the son suggested using food to promote calligraphy. Therefore, let more people to know knowledge about chinese calligraphy.

Founding Philosophy

Base on modern style, to present the beauty of traditional culture, The most important is taht to help people slow down to taste and write.

Chinese calligraphy is an interesting oriental art. There are a lot of ways for expression such as writting step, script and shade of color.

"Before beginning an interior design project, it's important to plan the layout with consideration to ergonomics and traffic flow.

Because of fusion restaurant with chinese calligraphy and omakase, i want the diners to see the selection area at once when they enter the restaurant. Let's them know there are some tools of chinese calligraphy for shop.

The inspiration come with shade of color in the chinese calligraphy. Adout the design, i use gray and black wood for the main material.

The Stage

In the restaurant, the cook just like a calligrapher to perform his skills for audiences. And the the audiences who come in to have a dinner. Or, the cook maybe is the calligraphy teacher to teach his students.

This stage sets in the middle of the dining area. It means you can watch the cook whatever you sit. And you can learn about calligraphy art through the dishes from the cook.

Term: 2023｜year 3 - sem 2 (for TSID student award)

Collaboration with: CAI Yi Xuan

Location: -

Area: ~496 m² (three floors)

Requirement: for 12 international students understanding by the different logic and view point.

These are a high-profile issue around all the gender issue, and it is a result about the improvement of the society. However, we still have a big part of improvement to learn and practice. We assume it would be done entirely by complete understanding and recpecting each other.

We assume the problem come from different logic of the communicatio. According to a study, woman is more emotional. On the contrary, man is more rational on the talk.

-design idea-

the sunlight combine form the 7 lights with different colors. Such as the community which organize form different people.

-traffic flow-

We put the traffic flow of community into our dormitory design in order to increase the chance of encounter and talking.

We have considered some programs what will happen in the community during the design processed.

"We are the same!"

'White Community' welcome the different people such as different gender, different sexual orientation and different country, etc...

We hope to give more chance for the student that to learn how to repect and chat with different people. Even they can know to take care for someone when they are in outside.

In here, you will be the same color - white. And you will be treated fairly.

Everyone who stay here, will rally like a sunliht which combine with many color.

-site analysis & plan-

There are a lot of residences around the site. So we don't want to be close. We plan to open the graden part of dormitory for residnts. Providing a common area for walking, picnic and playing whatever you want to do to take a rest.

In order to make the students have more chance to touch different people. Even they can make some special and new friends in here.

For the other purpose, the students should have a good relationship with the roommates and residents too.

-common areas-

About the common area, we design for entertainments, working, reading and storage.These function are not designed in the bedroom in order to let the students get out of the bedroom and chat, work and play together.

Say 'hi' in the stair

The stair in the middle links the common area to the bedroom, and also links to the three floors. Then you can see each other even you are not in the same floor because of the void. Therefore, you can say 'hi' with your roommates and invite them to join your game.

About the sunroof, in additon link to our concept, we think people will prefer to gether in the bright place.

Bedroom

All the bedrooms can seen inside throgh the french window by the people. The reason is that we want the bedroom can blend in with the outside space to be a big community when the curtain is opened. So you can say 'hi' to your roommate when you pass him/ her room.

About the storage space design, we design the shoeshelf to storing and dressing shoes.
