Asanotheryearcomesandgoes,theimmensejoy andprideIfeelstandinginfrontofyourstudentsand theschooltodaygrowseachconcertcycle.Whilethe pastprogramshavehadaspecifictheme,this programthatyouwillheartonightisquitesimple:joy.
Inthequietofthechoirroombeforewegoontostage, Ialwaysspeaktothestudentsfromtheheartabout howthisyearhasimpactedme.Ireflectonhowfarwe havecome,whatwehaveachievedasaprogram, andhighlightwhyitisthatwelovetodowhatwedo. Forme,it’squitesimple,andit’ssomethingthatmy mentorpassedontome,andwhatInowshareand passontothestudentsonstage:musicisfirstand foremostjoy,andthecreatingofmusicisalwaysjoyful.
Whatyouwillseeandheartonightismusicthatis sungfromtheheart,sungwithrespectandlovefor culture,tradition,andthethingsthatsomeviewas differences,butarereallythethingsthatbindus together.Itisourhopeasachoralprogram,thatyou leavefeelingjoyful,andyouputawayyourdevices, disconnectfromtheoutsideworld,andcelebratethe loveofmusicwithus.

HeiscurrentlymusicdirectoratSt.JohnEudesCatholic ChurchinChatsworth,Californiawherehedirects3different choirs.HealsoservesasthedirectoroftheSanFernando ValleyMaleChorusandhastouredthroughoutEuropeand Asiawithvariouschoirs.Matthewservesastheaccompanist for4differentschool'schoralprogramsandhasbeenwiththe ChaminadeFamilyforabout18years. Inaddition,he directs/accompaniesseveralmusicaltheatreshowsayear.
