Prayers for Holy Triduum

HOLY THURSDAY O God, you call us to participate in this most sacred Supper, a banquet of love of your Only Begotten Son, who handed himself over to death, we pray, that we may draw from this great mystery, the fullness of charity and of life.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

GOOD FRIDAY My Lord, your Son has suffered so much, shed so much blood.

I was born with so many faults and my nature is full of weakness, and yet your son Jesus has died on the cross for me.

I know your grace has the power to cleanse me of my many sins and to make me more like your Son. Thank you for your goodness and love for me.

I ask you, Father, to watch over me - always.

Through Christ, our Lord.

HOLY SATURDAY Loving Father, On this night, we await at the Lord’s tomb in prayer and fasting, meditating on his Passion and death and on his descent into Hell, and awaiting his glorious resurrection.

Through this mystery, we ask that we may resurrect with you to new life as we leave our old selves behind.

Help us to be who we were created to be in this world so that we may build up your Church and your kingdom.

May we follow the resurrection of your Son, Jesus Christ, as a witness to live a life of holiness in everything that we do.

Grant this through Christ our Lord.
