ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME

This evening, we stand by each other for one of the last times here as a class -- and it is most fitting that it is to celebrate with the Eucharist. We are here to thank God for the blessings He has given us during our time here. For this mass, we chose the theme "Adventure of a Lifetime." Over these past four years we have experienced highS and lows, twists and turns, sorrow and joy – a true adventure. We have traveled this journey together and end as one family this weekend. This journey has strengthened our bonds with our peers, Marianist educators, and the community, fostering a collective spirit of mission that will carry us into the adventure of our futures. We celebrate both individual strength and the collective unity that has supported our success, inspiring us to continue persevering and supporting one another beyond graduation. We recognize all the talents that the Class of 2026 possesses, and we are excited to use them for good wherever we may go. May the adventure continue!

+Liturgy of the Word +

FIRST READING (Isaiah 40: 25-31) Proclaimed by Claire Molnar A reading from the Book of the prophet Isaiah.

“To whom can you liken me as an equal?,” says the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these things: He leads out their army and numbers them, calling them all by name. By his great might and the strength of his power not one of them is missing!

Why, O Jacob, do you say, and declare, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the LORD, and my right is disregarded by my God”?

Do you not know or have you not heard?

The LORD is the eternal God, creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint nor grow weary, and his knowledge is beyond scrutiny.

He gives strength to the fainting; for the weak he makes vigor abound. Though young men faint and grow weary, and youths stagger and fall, they that hope in the LORD will renew their strength, they will soar as with eagles’ wings; they will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint.

The Word of the Lord. All: Thanks be to God.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM: (Psalm

16)

Lord, You will show us the path of life, Show us the path of life.

SECOND READING

(Romans 8:31b-35, 37-39)

Proclaimed by Steven Jaghasbanian

A reading from Saint Paul’s letter to the Romans:

If God is for us, who can be against us?

He who did not spare his own Son but handed him over for us all, how will he not also give us everything else along with him? Who will bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who acquits us.

Who will condemn?

It is Christ Jesus who died, rather, was raised, who also is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us. What will separate us from the love of Christ? Will anguish, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword? No, in all these things we conquer overwhelmingly through him who loved us.

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Lector: The Word of the Lord. All: Thanks be to God.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION (Mass of Restoration)

Refrain:

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! (2x)

GOSPEL (Matthew 14: 22-33)

Priest: The Lord be with you. All: And with your Spirit.

Priest: A reading from the holy Gospel according to St. Matthew

All: Glory to You, O Lord.

After he had fed the people, Jesus made the disciples get into a boat and precede him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. After doing so, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When it was evening he was there alone.

Meanwhile the boat, already a few miles offshore, was being tossed about by the waves, for the wind was against it. During the fourth watch of the night, he came toward them walking on the sea.

When the disciples saw him walking on the sea they were terrified. "It is a ghost," they said, and they cried out in fear.

At once Jesus spoke to them, "Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid."

Peter said to him in reply, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water."

He said, "Come."

Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw how strong the wind was he became frightened; and, beginning to sink, he cried out, "Lord, save me!"

Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught Peter, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"

After they got into the boat, the wind died down. Those who were in the boat did him homage, saying, "Truly, you are the Son of God."

Priest: The Gospel of the Lord. All: Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ.

Where can I run from your love? Where can I hide from my God? From the dawn of morning's light to the darkness of the night. O God, your presence is real.

(Written by:

You call me out upon the waters

The great unknown where feet may fail

And there I find You in the mystery In oceans deep my faith will stand

And I will call upon Your name

And keep my eyes above the waves

When oceans rise

My soul will rest in Your embrace

For I am Yours, You are mine

Verse 2:

Your grace abounds in deepest waters

Your sovereign hand will be my guide

Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me

You've never failed and You won't start now

Chorus

Bridge:

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders

Let me walk upon the waters

Wherever You would call me

Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander

And my faith will be made stronger

In the presence of my Savior

Communion Song 2

“LORD, I NEED YOU”

(Lyrics by Matt Maher, Daniel Carson, Jesse Pryor Reeves, Kristian Paul Stanfill, & Christy L. Nockels)

Verse 1:

Lord I come, I confess

Bowing here, I find my rest

Without You, I fall apart

You're the one that guides my heart

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You

Every hour, I need You

My one defense, my righteousness

Oh God, how I need You

Verse 2:

Where sin runs deep, Your grace is more Where grace is found is where You are And where You are, Lord, I am free Holiness is Christ in me

Chorus

Bridge:

So teach my song to rise to You

When temptation comes my way

And when I cannot stand, I'll fall on You

Jesus, You're my hope and stay

Family of Mary Awards

The Family of Mary Award is one of the most significant awards that Chaminade gives at the end of each year. This is an award that is presented to a family graduating from Chaminade. We recognize in a special way those families who have made a longstanding commitment to Chaminade, sending not just one or two children to the school, but three or more children over the course of their tenure at Chaminade.
