Gladwin’s determination and resilience help her achieve dream of becoming a teacher
Gladwin grew up with her mother, Catherine, and two older brothers in Kenya. In grade 7, Gladwin was sponsored, easing the financial strain her mother faced. Through this critical support, the family was able to pay school fees, nutrition, and other essential needs.
She worked hard, completed secondary school and enrolled in university to pursue an education degree.
Gladwin’s sponsor encouraged her with constant support. Driven by a vision to fight poverty and illiteracy in her community, she remained focused.
She attributes her success to God’s faithfulness and the unceasing support of Chalice and her sponsor. Today, she celebrates her graduation as a teacher, ready to impart knowledge and values to the next generation.
She considers herself deeply indebted to this generosity and prays for blessings over her sponsors’ lives. With her new career, Gladwin aspires to support other vulnerable children, giving them the same hope and opportunity she was given.
