Daniel Weinstein, has been involved with CHAI since he met some of the CHAI residents at an event with his religious school at Shearith Israel in 2019. He enjoyed his time so much that he decided to work with CHAI for his Bar Mitzvah project. Daniel planned a Shabbat Dinner for the residents of Levy House and he provided food, decorations, an activity, and overall a memorable time.

Daniel did not want to lose touch with his CHAI friends and began holding routine Bingo afternoons with Levy House. As Covid-19 struck, Daniel decided that he wanted to do more for the CHAI community and called virtual Bingo on zoom which reached many of our group homes.

Also during the Pandemic, in 2021, he delivered Valentine Daniel with Jamie, a CHAI resident, at the Shabbat Dinner for his Bar Mitzvah Project.

gift baskets to our residents. Now a rising junior at St. Mark's School of Texas, Daniel has been spending this Summer working as an intern at CHAI through the Jewish Family Service Rabbi Gerald Klein Internship Program.

Skilled in photography, he is working on building a portfolio of photos from CHAI events as well as helping at our Day Habilitation program one day per week. Daniel has also planned and led a tie-dye activity with the men at Miller House and has further plans to lead more fun activities! Daniel said: "The CHAI residents are the sweetest and kindest members of our community," adding that he plans on staying active with CHAI after his internship

Patsy Goodman, CHAI's Director of Development, shared her joy over having Daniel as an intern this summer, saying "He is, as we knew he would, doing a terrific job. The residents love having him spend time with them."

RESIDENT CHAILITE

SUMMER 2022

Josh has been a resident of CHAI for many years and is involved in many of the programs and activities that CHAI has to offer. Josh attends CHAI's Day Habilitation program where his favorite things to do are checking out DVDs from the library and working out & playing basketball at the JCC. Josh, an avid film lover, greatly enjoys all Club CHAI events, especially when they go to see a movie. Most recently, the group was able to see the newest Doctor Strange movie, which Josh ranked as one of his favorite Marvel flicks. Outside of movies, Josh enjoys painting, drawing and photography and is always looking to improve his skills in these areas. Josh's favorite memory with CHAI was the 2018 CHAILIFE event at The Star as being on the Cowboy's

experience. Josh says that no matter what the event or activity is, that he loves being in the community and meeting new people.
