Our little guide to making a big impact

An Ethical Business

Since our journey began back in 1967, here at Chadwick Teamwear we’re always taking our responsibilities as a business very seriously.
In a rapidly changing world, with more than 60 years experience, now more than ever we’re focussed on sustainability and the future of our planet and people. It’s part of our culture to review all aspects of our business to see how we can improve things for the good.
No business can pretend to be perfect. But rest assured, we’re committed to working the best way we can. We’re honest about the challenges we face and what lies ahead. We’re trustworthy and authentic. We’re trying to do the right thing. We’re on a journey and constantly looking to evolve as an ethical business by listening to our customers and responding to market forces.
We’re trying to do the right thing. We’re on a journey and constantly looking to evolve.
Joel Chadwick, Managing Director Chadwick Teamwear
At Chadwick Teamwear we’re committed to producing premium products, in a profitable way.
That’s ultimately why we’re in business. But to us it’s more than just the bottom line, it’s the triple bottom line. It’s The Three Ps of profit, planet and people that truly make us tick.
It’s not just our financial performance by which we measure our success, it’s our social and environmental performance too. By accommodating all these factors we play a part in developing a sustainable future.
Our ethical and social responsibilities are at the heart of our business.
We have a responsibility to make sure all reasonable steps are taken to ensure our products are not only ethically sourced but do not unnecessarily impact on the environment.
Under the stewardship of our long established China team, all factories used in the production of our ranges have been independently audited by ITS Intertek and are signed up to the BSCI codes of practice. We actively monitor all our partners and suppliers to ensure best practice is maintained. Crucially, our management team travel to China frequently to meet all our suppliers face to face. As a result, we know exactly where, how and who are producing our products.
All our garments are now packaged in biodegradable bags made from recycled materials which can then be reused or recycled. Did you know?
amfori
amfori is the global business association for open and sustainable trade. We share their vision of a world where all trade delivers social, environmental and economic benefits for everyone.

As a member of amfori, we and our carefully chosen factory partners participate in the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative). By following and agreeing to the thirteen principles of their code of conduct we aim to improve the social performance of our supply chain. Our step-by-step approach enables us to help monitor, engage, get empowered and receive support to constantly maintain and ultimately aim to improve our ethical, sustainable trading model.
Chadwick Teamwear agrees to the amfori BSCI principles:

We also make use of amfori BEPI. amfori BEPI (Business Environmental Performance Initiative) is a comprehensive programme designed to identify, assess and mitigate environmental risks within our supply chain.
amfori BEPI enables us to exercise ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) due diligence, enhance transparency, and manage environmental impacts more effectively. We can prioritise risks, address them more efficiently, and continuously improve the environmental performance of our supply chain.
As a subject close to our heart, Chadwick Teamwear proudly have a long track record supporting numerous reforestation projects, from Tanzania to at home in the UK.
With over 400,000 trees planted as a direct result of our funding, we hope by investing in such environmental projects we can play a significant part in positive change and as a business indirectly offset some of our carbon footprint.

We are working hard to reduce our carbon footprint.
One important area is in how we work closely with our carefully chosen international shipping partners. We hold significant garment stocks at source to ensure we always have sufficient volume to fill containers to capacity. No wasted space!
No partial shipments ensures we are as efficient as we can be when bringing goods from the other side of the world.
Here in the UK, careful consideration is given to our choice of preferred distribution partners. Sustainable delivery of our products is paramount and our key partners are working hard to diversify their fleets to include alternative options such as biogas, biofuel, electric and hydrogen powered vehicles.
Our further commitments include reducing our packaging and moving our fleet of company vehicles to electric.
Chadwick Teamwear are supporting the UK’s commitment to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
We can’t talk about sustainability as one of our core pillars without mentioning our premium products themselves.
Chadwick Teamwear isn’t about fast fashion and a throwaway culture, we’re all about longevity. Our highly durable premium teamwear and training wear is made to last. Buy cheap and you’ll buy twice!
Our robust, hard-wearing garments are designed to last. We design affordable products that stand the test of time in design and quality. Not only does this mean continuity for our retailers and resellers but it means we avoid unnecessary waste and are highly resourceful in our approach. Our premium products are sustainable!
