Shavuot is the second of three major festivals (Passover being the first and Sukkot the third) and comes exactly fifty days after Passover. The Torah was given by G d to the Jewish people on Mount Sinai over 3,300 years ago. Every year on this day we renew our acceptance of G‑dʼs gift.

When G‑d gave the Torah to theJewish people, the Jewish children were the guarantors! G‑d knew that He could count on the Jewish boys and girls to make sure the Jewish people would love the Torah, learn it, and do its holy Mitzvahs.
