A NEW SENIOR TRADITION The Class of 2026 started a new Gibbons tradition this year, closing out Senior Sunset with a candlelight tribute at Mary’s Grotto. As the sun set over campus, seniors gathered before the Blessed Mother for prayer and reflection, a fitting way to mark their final moments on campus together.

As I reflect on the past year, I am filled with profound gratitude for the many blessings our community has received. Our Annual Report tells a story not only of numbers and achievements, but of faith, resilience, and shared commitment to our mission of forming men and women of faith, service, and leadership. This year, our students continued to grow academically, spiritually, and socially with the guidance of dedicated faculty and staff. Their accomplishments, in the classroom, on the stage, in athletic arenas, and in service to others, are a testament to the spirit of Gibbons. Our mission is made possible through the extraordinary generosity of parents, alumni, and friends. Because of your support, we can open doors through tuition assistance, invest in our mission, and create opportunities for innovation. As we look to the future, we remain steadfast in our commitment to forming servant leaders prepared to make a difference in the world. MISSION DAY PARADE OF CHAMPIONS 3

FAITH & OUTREACH SPRING INTO GIVING FOOD DRIVE COLLECTS 3,500 POUNDS OF FOOD Our community added a second food drive this year, partnering with Catholic Parish Outreach for a Spring into Giving Food Drive that collected a total of 3,500 pounds of canned goods. ALL-PARENT PRAYER BREAKFAST INSPIRES AND CONNECTS More than 130 parents attended our annual All-Parent Prayer Breakfast, a joyful morning filled with prayer, fellowship, and spiritual renewal.

GIGI’S PLAYHOUSE VOLUNTEERS SERVE AT HOLY GROUNDS Volunteers from GiGi’s Playhouse, a local nonprofit offering free therapeutic, educational, and career training programs for individuals with Down syndrome, visited campus each Thursday throughout the year to serve alongside students at Holy Grounds, and began offering GiGi’s Blooms, custom floral arrangements, at fine arts productions.

CHRISTIAN SERVICE LEARNING CONNECTS STUDENTS TO THE COMMUNITY Now in its fourth semester, our senior theology honors elective, Christian Service Learning, pairs students with nonprofit partners for weekly volunteer service during the school day. William Choi ’26, John Prater ’26, and Jake Signorelli ’26 served at the Cary Habitat ReStore, while classmates served at Note in the Pocket, Green Chair, Beginning and Beyond, and the Food Bank. CHRISTMAS TOY DRIVE BENEFITS 100 CHILDREN Our Annual Christmas Toy Drive wrapped up with 100 children at Beginning and Beyond Child Development Center receiving warm winter coats, hats, gloves, socks, books, games, and wish list treasures.

EDUCATORS GIVE BACK DURING DAY OF SERVICE

STUDENTS SERVE AT ST. FRANCIS INN FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR

EDUCATORS ATTEND NOTRE DAME HUMAN DIGNITY SYMPOSIUM Treve Lumsden, Dean of Academics, and Lydia Binanay, French teacher, attended the University of Notre Dame’s Teaching Life and Human Dignity Symposium. This is the fourth consecutive year Gibbons has sent a delegation of educators to attend.

For the third consecutive year, a delegation of Gibbons students and educators traveled to serve those in need at the St. Francis Inn in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during Midwinter Break. Through meals, clothing, employment assistance, and other services, the Inn welcomes each guest with compassion, dignity, and respect.

The week-long gathering brings together educators from across the country to explore human dignity within the Catholic intellectual tradition and to workshop ways of weaving those themes into everyday classroom instruction, not just theology courses, but subjects across the curriculum.

More than 150 faculty and staff members joined together for our Educator Day of Service, giving over 300 volunteer hours to 10 local community organizations.

ACADEMICS GIBBONS LAUNCHES NEW AI AND CAREER LAB Gibbons is expanding its Business Program with a new AI and Career Lab, made possible by the generosity of parents Michael and Megann Gagnon, which gives students hands-on exposure to emerging technology and career pathways. LEARNING SUPPORT GROWS The Learning Support tutors saw more than 1,350 student visits for sessions covering every academic area. Curriculum Assistance has grown from a study hall into a true learning lab, offering projects, tutorials, and study strategies that build cooperation, executive functioning skills, and student success. STUDENTS EARN SCHOLASTIC WRITING AWARDS Amelie Flagler ’26 took home two Silver Keys — one for poetry and one for short story — and Gabriella Marcus ’26 earned a Silver Key for short story, both through the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, one of the longest-running and most prestigious recognition programs in the country. Amelie also picked up four honorable mentions, and Gabriella added two of her own.

Chosen from a statewide pool of applicants for their exceptional talent and dedication, the students will join some of the state’s most gifted young people for an immersive summer of creativity, collaboration, and intellectual growth. 5

DRAMA WINS FOUR DPAC RISING STARS AWARDS The Drama program brought home four awards at this year’s DPAC Rising Stars Award. Mollie Reeves ‘26 won Best Actress for her role in “She Loves Me,” earning an all-expenses-paid trip to perform at the National Jimmy Awards in New York City, one of the most prestigious platforms for high school musical theater in the country. The program’s production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” earned two more honors: Best Ensemble and Best Ensemble Member for Sophia Bell ‘26. Maddie Behrens ‘26 took home Best Dancer.

FROMENT ’27 AWARDED TOP ART PRIZE Juliette Froment ’27 earned a National Scholastic Art Gold Medal for her printmaking piece, “Study Spot,” selected from more than 335,000 submissions nationwide and placing her in the top 1% of entries. Gold Medal recipients will be honored at Carnegie Hall in New York City, and her artwork will be featured in the Alliance’s online galleries and the 2026 yearbook. RENCK MAKES HISTORY WITH NC HONORS CHORUS Eashan Renck ’27 made history as the first Gibbons student selected for the North Carolina Honors Chorus, chosen from more than 1,000 auditionees, and performed with 177 fellow vocalists at the NC Music Educators Conference. 21 STUDENTS SELECTED FOR HONORS BAND Twenty-one Gibbons musicians were selected to perform with the North Carolina Association of Independent Schools Honors Band, rehearsing with distinguished clinicians and performing in a showcase concert at Elon University. performance, ORCHESTRA STUDENTS ATTEND ALL-STATE CLINIC Four orchestra students were selected for the 2026 NC AllState Orchestra Clinic after auditioning against hundreds of students from across North Carolina. ATHLETICS ATHLETICS CAPTURES MULTIPLE STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS Athletics celebrated a landmark year, with student-athletes across a wide range of sports capturing state titles, setting records, and demonstrating sportsmanship and teamwork. Women’s Tennis: Dual-Team Championship Women’s Cross Country: 16th NCHSAA state title Field Hockey: Third consecutive NCFHCA State Championship Cheerleading: Small Division 1 at the NCHSAA Cheerleading Invitational Dance Team: Made program history, capturing its first State Championship title in the Varsity Team Performance category Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving: Men’s team completed back-to-back state titles, and the women’s team won its first championship in 17 years Women’s Wrestling: Bri Palmer ’29 became the school’s first women’s wrestling champion Men’s Lacrosse: Back-to-back titles

ATHLETICS EARNS 19TH WELLS FARGO CUP

This spring, our Athletics team received its 19th NCHSAA Wells Fargo Cup overall and its first as the 7A classification champion. The Wells Fargo Cup recognizes the school with the greatest overall postseason success across all programs. Our teams combined for 875 points—the highest total of any NCHSAA school. Every team contributed points toward the final total.

FOUR ALUMNI INDUCTED INTO ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME Four distinguished alumni were inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame for their contributions to athletics and leadership:

HARRIS AND TARKENTON NAMED ATHLETES OF THE YEAR Gibbons athletics celebrated its standout student-athletes during a ceremony this spring. Genevieve Harris ‘26, a standout on the volleyball court, was named Female Athlete of the Year, and Cam Tarkenton ‘26 earned Male Athlete of the Year honors for his work on the baseball diamond. Aaron Anderson ‘26 — a true tri-sport athlete competing in football, wrestling, and indoor men’s volleyball — took home the Spirit of Sport Award, recognizing the drive and character he brings to every game.

INAUGURAL MISSION DAY

EVENTS GIBBONS LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE HOSTS INAUGURAL MISSION DAY The Gibbons Leadership Institute (GLI) hosted our first Mission Day celebration, and it was one to remember. Morning Mass and free pancakes opened the day, followed by field games, student research presentations, a clothing swap, and a Champions Parade honoring the year’s state championship teams and sending off varsity spring teams. Leadership Institute students were able to bring Mission Day fun inside classrooms throughout the day - a reminder that leadership and learning go hand in hand.

MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL CELEBRATES 30 COUNTRIES

More than 150 grandparents and special friends joined us on campus for our inaugural Grandparents & Special Friends Day. Guests enjoyed lunch with their grandchildren and a presentation on Gibbons’ storied history.

The Gibbons community came together this spring for the fourth annual Multicultural Festival, celebrating the rich diversity of our school. With 30 countries represented and around 90 students participating, the event featured food, music, dance, and traditions from across the globe.

SIX STUDENTS RECEIVE NEW CARDINAL GIBBONS SCHOLARSHIPS Six students received the newly established Cardinal Gibbons Scholarships, generously funded by an anonymous Gibbons family. The $2,250 scholarships recognize outstanding juniors whose lives reflect our school's commitment to faith, service, and leadership. CARDINAL GIBBONS AWARD FOR ACADEMIC DISTINCTION: Charlotte Lloyd and James Merchan This award recognizes sustained academic excellence matched by perseverance, integrity, and humility. Lloyd's essay reflected on three years of daily discipline, from early practices to volunteer work, culminating in her realization that excellence lives in the effort, not just the result. Merchan drew on his experience as a distance runner to describe how he learned to approach academic challenges with the same patience and adaptability. CARDINAL GIBBONS AWARD FOR THE LIFE OF THE MIND: Isabella Conklin and Andrew Gardner This award celebrates intellectual curiosity, creativity, and moral integrity. Conklin's essay traced a moment of spiritual renewal that deepened her involvement in Spiritual Life, while Gardner's described staying after a calculus test to solve a problem his teacher had called impossible, discovering along the way that he's driven by a love of learning, not just grades. CARDINAL GIBBONS “THIS I BELIEVE” AWARD: Anissa Newby and Connor Licht Rooted in the annual This I Believe event, this award honors students who thoughtfully articulate the values shaping their lives. Newby's reflection on self-worth challenged the community to choose authenticity over shrinking oneself for approval. Licht's speech, drawing on his years as a swimmer and student leader, celebrated the perseverance behind every earned victory.

GIBBONS GALA RAISES RECORD-BREAKING $1M This year’s Gibbons Gala raised more than $1 million thanks to the generosity of our community. The funds supported a refresh of the cafeteria, including updated furniture, a redesigned layout, more seating, and skylights. Construction was completed in time for the 2026–27 school year.
