United States Senate Race Results Democrat Troy Jackson has defeated Republican incumbent Susan Collins in Maine’s U.S. Senate race, receiving 53.1% of the vote to Collins’ 45.6% (unofficial). Jackson’s victory marked a major Democratic pickup in the party’s successful effort to regain control of the U.S. Senate. Collins, who has served in the U.S. Senate since 1996, was seeking her sixth term. Jackson entered the race as the Democratic replacement candidate after Graham Platner withdrew following a sexual assault allegation, which he denied. Jackson, a former Maine Senate President, ultimately secured the Democratic nomination at a special party convention in July. Collins’ defeat ends a nearly 30-year Senate tenure and marks a significant shift in Maine’s congressional delegation. C ongressional District One Race Results Incumbent Democrat Chellie Pingree secured another term representing Maine’s 1st Congressional District, defeating Republican challenger Ron Russell. Pingree received 66.2% of the vote, compared with Russell’s 33.8% (unofficial). Pingree has represented the district since 2009 and will retake the gavel as Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies in the 120th Congress. C ongressional District Two Race Results At the time of publication, Republican Paul LePage is leading the race for Maine’s 2nd Congressional District and appears poised to defeat Democrat Matt Dunlap to claim the open seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. So far, LePage has received 49.5% of the vote, compared to 49.3% for Dunlap, with 12% of the vote outstanding. While the race has not yet been officially called, the remaining communities skew heavily Republican. LePage’s anticipated victory would mark a Republican pickup in a district that has remained competitive in recent congressional elections, bucking the broader national blue wave. The race drew national attention as Republicans sought to win a seat held by Democrats since 2019. The 2nd Congressional District has historically leaned Republican in presidential elections, voting for President Donald Trump in each of the last three presidential contests. The seat was open for the first time in several election cycles after incumbent Democrat Jared Golden announced he would not seek reelection.

Gubernatorial Race Results Democrat Hannah Pingree has won the race for Governor of Maine, defeating Republican Bobby Charles and Independent Rick Bennett to secure the Blaine House. Pingree finished with 55.0% of the vote, compared with 36.9% for Charles and 8.1% for Bennett (unofficial). Pingree’s victory comes as little surprise given her consistent polling lead throughout the campaign. She held a strong advantage in nearly every major poll, including the final New York Times/Siena poll, which showed her leading Charles by 12 percentage points (49% to 37%), with Bennett at 8%. Her steady polling advantage made her the clear frontrunner heading into Election Day, and she easily met expectations. Maine State House Democrats increased their majority in the Maine Senate, securing 24 seats compared with 11 for Republicans (unofficial). In the Maine House, Democrats won at least 88 seats, a gain of at least 11 seats compared with 2024. This is not quite enough for a veto-proof majority, but it is nonetheless stronger than in the previous two years.
