At the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, we believe in serving the residents of Washington County and beyond, both inside and outside our doors. We are proud to be a supporter of the Community Foundation and are thrilled that they in turn are an advocate of an organization that is very important to us, Washington County Fellowship of Christian Athletes (WACO FCA).

WACO FCA works to combine two passions within our community - faith and athletics. FCA offers camp opportunities to community youth so they can reach their potential through comprehensive athletic, spiritual and leadership training. Power Camp allows the camper to grow, not only in their sport, but in their relationship with God. Cancelled due to Covid-19, in 2019, 300 youth attended camp at Williamsport High School.
WACO FCA also holds two smaller camps, Outdoor Sports Camp and Wheaton Park. Outdoor Sports Camp provides an opportunity to teach the Gospel through the context of outdoor sports. Children ages 8-14 participate in Archery, Rifles, Fishing, and other sporting activities. Our local FCA is one of the few nationally to host this type of camp. WACO’s newest venture, Wheaton Park, began last year in collaboration with Boys and Girls Club of Washington County and the Robert W. Johnson Community Center. Wheaton Park is a community-specific camp offering youth the opportunity to learn and grow in their sport and their faith.
FCA serves over 1500 youth through camps and studentled/student-driven opportunities such as School Huddles and events like Fields of Faith. Doug Fiery stated, “I am passionate about helping our local youth. As president of the WACO FCA Leadership Board, I work with the staff and board to educate our community about the FCA mission and vision. This helps to raise awareness within our community thereby increasing support so that they might achieve their goals.”
FCA embodies four attributes: integrity, serving, teamwork, and excellence – the staff at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home closely identifies with these characteristics, pursuing them in service to the community, whether client-based or public-based. “Do your work willingly, as though you were serving the Lord himself.” (Colossians 3:23a, CEV).
