BOARD OF DIRECTORS Mike Aresco.................................................. Commissioner American Bob Bowlsby................................................. Commissioner Partners and Friends: We are pleased to share with you our annual Year in Review for 2020-21. This has been an extraordinary year to say the least. As teachers across the country stepped up for their students and colleagues, we were inspired to see so many of our partners step up for teachers in their communities. Conferences, universities, bowls, ESPN, host cities and so many others went out of their way to recognize the contribution being made by America’s educators. As the largest sports organization dedicated to supporting K-12 teachers and students, the College Football Playoff Foundation enters 2021 with a refreshed and renewed appreciation for the importance of our work. Please know we will do all we can to maximize the opportunity we all share and use the popularity of college football to help teachers and their students. Together we know we are making a difference. Thank you for your continued support. Great Teachers Change Lives. Sincerely,

National Teachers Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

NATIONAL TEACHERS HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY For the first time ever, the College Football Playoff Foundation and the National Teachers Hall of Fame joined together on the Big Day to share a special 2020 induction ceremony. The ceremony was streamed live and emceed by CFP Foundation Ambassador Rachel Lindsay. It also featured former US Secretary of Education Dr. John King, President of the National Education Association Becky Pringle, and CFP Foundation Executive Director Britton Banowsky. Teachers selected for the Hall of Fame each year must have a minimum of 20 years of full-time teaching in Pre K-12 classrooms and have submitted a rigorous nomination packet and video.

I am so happy for your involvement with the NTHF and appreciative for what you have done for me and my students. The $1000 to use through DonorsChoose was so important this year. My school art budget was cut down to almost nothing so that money came to such great use this year. I purchased some supplies to send to students who were/are fully remote and I also purchased additional supplies so I could have sufficient to use with students at school as I had to place certain items into quarantine for 72 hours after use.” Thomas Knabb Dodge Elementary Art National Teacher Hall of Fame 2020 Inductee 2020-21 CFP Foundation / Year in Review

Taco Bell and CFPF are alleviating financial stressors that are all too prevalent in pursuing higher education and I am eternally grateful.” Jeffrey, Live Más Scholar CFP Foundation Surprises Students

On the Big Day, the Taco Bell Foundation teamed up with CFPF making it possible to surprise 50 Live Más Scholarship recipients with an additional $1,000 each to fuel their education. The scholars were surprised with the news while gathered in front of their computer screens attending what they thought was a standard Zoom check-in call. Scholars were delighted to learn they were receiving additional scholarship funds with a special video announcement from CFPF Ambassador Rachel Lindsay and CFPF Executive Director Britton Banowsky.

Each week, one teacher was awarded $5,000 in the form of a DonorsChoose grant to help with classroom supplies or a school project.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL PARTNERSHIPS

ESPN - GOING THE EXTRA YARD FOR TEACHERS ESPN continues to support the CFP Foundation and Extra Yard for Teachers initiatives investing more than $2 million since 2014. This year, ESPN and its conference networks and on-air talent went above and beyond to show appreciation to educators across the country. During Extra Yard for Teachers week, college football programming featured stories about the heroic efforts and dedication teachers have had to their students throughout the pandemic. Teachers were recognized and surprised with DonorsChoose gift cards. While College GameDay looked slightly different this year, teachers were still recognized as part of the tradition. Further, during conference championship week, ESPN’s conference networks supported the recruitment of a more diverse teaching workforce by highlighting the many Go Teach student-athletes who are studying to become teachers. 16

SHARING SUPPORT FOR TEACHERS College football fans and supporters of education continued to engage with the College Football Playoff Foundation through social media and traditional media platforms. With the support of our media partners and social media followers, we were able to further expand our reach to recognize and reward teachers for their hard work in communities all across the country. All year long, our platforms highlighted stories about great teachers, special Tag-A-Teacher resource giveaways and Extra Yard for Teachers programs and initiatives.

School, teacher and student impact numbers vary year-to-year, based on the selection of the type of projects and how funds are utilized. For example, a makeover project may impact every teacher on one campus vs. a broad funding for classroom resources across a district or multiple schools.

Thank you so very much. We are going through some tough times with Hurricane Laura and this donation brought tears to my eyes. Our school is heavily damaged so we will have to go virtual in the near future.” Mrs. Savario Lake Charles, LA

EYFT GIVE

Thank you to the fans who purchase official College Football Playoff merchandise throughout the year. Proceeds of purchases are used to provide more resources to teachers.

After only one year since the Camp Fire in northern California, the community of Butte County was forced to evacuate again due to fires. The College Football Playoff Foundation delivered A+ Teacher Appreciation meals to teachers to help keep morale high and to recognize the importance of their hard work having to go through this process again within their school community.

Thank you for your support!” Casey Taylor Executive Director Achieve Charter School
