For the 2019-2020 school year, the Community Foundation managed and administered the funds for twenty-five scholarships.

Awards went to students pursuing either undergraduate or graduate degrees in areas like STEM, medicine, health, and education, as well as students planning to attend Northern Virginia Community College. Scholarship recipients were recognized for academic achievement, financial need, and for demonstrating good citizenship at school, at home and in the community.

Alex Thomas Effort Award
