INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATIONS Manisha Tailor MBE

Manisha Tailor, MBE, is the Assistant Head of Coaching (U9- U16) QPR Football Club, and the only person of South Asian heritage to be working as a coach in the English professional game. Manisha has a background in primary education and trained as a headteacher before embarking on a career in football. She is the founder of Swaggerlicious, an organisation that uses football and education to engage with Black, Asian, Minority groups and women, works with Show Racism the Red Card delivering antiracism workshops, and holds an advisory role as vice-chair (coaching) on the British Asians in Sport and Physical Activity board. In 2017 she received an MBE for services to football and diversity in sport.

Made an MBE for services to football and diversity in sport in 2017, Queens Park Rangers academy coach Manisha Tailor hopes to pave the way for more women from diverse backgrounds to work as coaches. Tailor feels it is "ludicrous" there are not more south Asian women working in the English game and hopes more people can "challenge their unconscious biases" to help bring about positive change in the industry.

A former primary school deputy headteacher, who began studying for her A licence badge in June, Tailor is understood to be the only south Asian woman in such a role at one of England's top 92 men's clubs. Tailor's path to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium has been varied and not without challenges. Three decades ago, aged nine, she was went on trial to Barnet with a friend and was offered a place in their youth setup, but her family said they could not take her to training while her brother played cricket for Middlesex.

It is Tailor's love for her twin brother that has inspired much of her work, as she now campaigns around mental health. Traumatised by bullies earlier in his life suffering which Tailor's family understand contributed to his illness - her brother began suffering from hallucinations and his mental health worsened. "My life experiences, particularly with my brother, have helped me to be resilient,"

Twenty two years on from her brother's initial illness, Tailor is still helping others, delivering educational programmes and campaigns around mental health through the work of her company, Swaggarlicious. And just as she has dedicated large parts of her life to helping others, she knows how much others have helped her career too. In particular, she says she would not be where she is now without the support of QPR's technical director and former manager, Chris Ramsey.

Celia Sawyer is an Interior Designer and the founder of Celia Sawyer Interior Architecture and Design in London. The company has been discreetly providing both private and commercial clients with bespoke ground breaking luxury interiors for over 20 years. Celia has worked on an array of assignments, such as private aviation, yachts, luxury homes and commercial projects and her clients range from Royalty, (she recently designed a house for the Saudi Arabian Royal family), through to celebrities, sporting individuals and High Net worth executives. In 2017 Celia worked for the Royal Navy where she designed the warrant officer’s mess on HMS Queen Elizabeth. In 2014 Celia won the Inspiration Awards for Women , and has also been voted in the top 100 Most influential Business Entrepreneurs in the UK and the top 250 Women. leaders of the World. ITS ALL IN THE EYE ELFRIEDE PÖTTGEN A picture gives us the feeling of holding the whole world in our hands. Photos are documents of the moment, of life, of history. Photography transforms the world into an eternally perpetual offer to flee from reality into the realm of fantasy, from pain to joy – through the window of the soul, the eye. I discovered my love for photography. (Mario Cohen) Pöttgen grew up with 14 siblings on a farm in Styria. After training as a hospitality industry and palliative nurse. in 2016 she started taking pictures, where she acquires the knowledge self-taught. Already in her first year of photography, she was awarded a gold medal in the "Nude" category at the "Trierenberg Super Circuit" one of the largest international photo competitions in the world. Another gold medal followed in 2018. In addition, she has already had various exhibitions in smaller and larger galleries, including the Leica Galerie Salzburg. She deals above all with the topic of people in very honest and unretouched pictures. Her pictures live through the character of the faces, the depth of expression, the lighting design and should not be embellished or alienated by Photoshop. It represents man as he is - not as he could be. For her, portrait photography is a mirror of the soul, a deep look into people.

This fascinates her more and more. In addition, she likes people who have a "flaw" and radiate incredible beauty with or precisely because of this flaw. In various photo projects she had dealt with the changeable possibilities of photography and the beauty of the "imperfect". At the beginning of her time as a photographer, she had photographed "photographers in their own light" and thus got to know the possibilities of different exposures. This was followed by projects such as "55+", "Animus/Anima" (the female side of the man), "Contrasts" and, with a focus on "Portraits". She is currently working on a calendar for 2021 in which tattoo artists from Austria introduce themselves and apply. The proceeds will benefit the butterfly children. (A young girl with this condition even gets tattooed during a shoot!) In addition to the people, she likes to photograph "Lost Places", which are abandoned and empty buildings and ruins that can tell so many stories - she has also had several exhibitions about this. She is a member of the Fotoclub Oberndorf. Now Pöttgen is a World-renowned Photography Stars in her own right.

LEARNING TO BE A SURVIVOR AMBER GUYMER-HOSKING

Challenged, yet hopeful! Amber Guymer-Hosking now the age if 34 was born in Lowestoft, Suffolk. Amber Joined the British Army when she was 16 to get away from an abusive home where she had been sexually abused by her Dad for many years. Amber joined the Army Medical Corps (RAMC) as she was not allowed to deploy at 16 and had to wait till she was 18 due to Army regulations Amber spent the first two years at a UK base. Then when she turned 18 regulations allowed her to be deployed to Afghanistan in 2006/7. As an Army Medic Amber witnessed many harrowing events that involved both military personal and civilians of all nationality`s.

One of ambers greatest accomplishments in life is the birth of her son. But due to abusive circumstances Amber soon found her self faced to become a single mother with little support. She has often struggled and reached rock bottom on a few occasions, however, the one thing that kept her going was her son and the responsibility she now had.

Amber has been posted to a number of countries including Africa where she was deployed to give aid to refugees and Aid Support under the United Nations. Still suffering from Depression and PTSD Amber still managed to do her duty. Amber was finally discharged from the Army in 2016 with complex PTSD and right away found herself homeless and even sleeping in her car. After many knock back Amber reached out to Help 4 Helmless Veterans who agreed to help Amber get a property and a new start for her and her son. Amber was invited by becoming a full Ambassador by Steve Bentham-Bates from Help 4 Helmless Veterans. Since Talking with Amber over the past few months I have learned that no matter how hard gets with a little help and a lot of determination you can over come anything. Yes there is a lot more to Ambers Story and many like her that have served their country but one thing I took from the interview is Amber has a lot to give the Charity. Amber is on the right road and has recently started a new chapter in her life with a new partner. CREATING WAVES SARAH DONOHUE

Not all females choose a traditional lifestyle and Sarah Donohue is no exception. A powerboat racer herself, Sarah’s current role sees her heading up media and communications for the Cowes Torquay Cowes powerboat event, known worldwide as one of the most famous offshore powerboat races in history spanning back over 60 years. Sir Max Aitken having competed in the Miami Nassau race in 1960 decided that he wanted to replicate such a great event on British shores and in 1961 the Cowes Torquay was born. This 211-mile marathon race is endurance at it best and over the years has seen all walks of life, even celebrities and royalty alike take to the water in the one motorsport which embraces equality and always has. All nationalities have traveled to Cowes to take part in this famous race even traveling from the United States shipping over both team and boat just to become a part of history and maybe even take the ‘Beaverbrook Trophy’ or better still, the ‘Harmsworth’ or ‘Bahamas Trophy.’

British waters make this race punishing for both man and machine in what can often be mountainous seas and tough navigation and before Sarah’s role on land, she was racing herself for almost 30 years and has raced across Europe, America and even throughout Asia, it is her passion and she always says that she simply can’t get enough of it and Cowes is her favourite race venue of all time. Sir Max Aitken’s daughter Laura heads up this incredible event, herself a former powerboat racer as was her late mother Lady Vi and is her daughter Lucci Levi. In fact Shelley Jory another female racer is also part of the official organising team so it is safe to say that whilst it may be a male dominated motorsport, the power behind its continuing success and that it is still going strong is because there is a fleet of former racers who are mostly female at the helm. As if holding down a male-dominated Job as an industrial mechanic Jana has also been a Veteran Voluntary Fire Fighter since the age of 12. she has also been known to do a little modeling, Jana has now become a breathing apparatus wearer and a fire brigade paramedic. She is a very humble and very hard-working inspirational young lady and deserves every bit of credit. Ruling the airwaves! HARPZ KAUR Harpz is a Punjabi girl currently residing in London. She is also an inspiration to all the small-town ladies in Punjab, India. In 2015, Harpz joined the BBC Asian Network, and in 2017, he became a workday breakfast moderator. Furthermore, William, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor, and Manpreet Toor are among the celebrities with whom she has spoken. She helped launch The Bhangra With Projecting on BBC Asian Network in 2019. She is an inspiration to all of Punjab's humble local region young women. The long-serving breakfast host has announced her departure from the BBC Asian organization. On June 8, 2022, she said her goodbyes to her colleagues. She will be back very soon!

Kerry is the President of EcoCentury Technologies, an engineering and consulting firm promoting clean technologies. She is also the VP of Strategic Partnerships for ZiphyCare (a health tech company based in New York serving New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Ukraine with comprehensive diagnostic clinical services), and co-founder and Partnerships Manager for N-EAT (Nutrition through Engagement and Agricultural Technologies) under SFU's Faculty of Sustainability which co-designs and implements circular economy agri-systems addressing food sovereignty in remote and Indigenous communities through government relations, curriculum development, workshops, community engagement, economic development, and innovative technologies.

Kerry serves on the Board of Directors of many Foundations and Organizations, along with serving on the Diversity Advisory Committee for the Joint Task Force of the Canadian Armed Forces, is an Honorary Governor of the Vancouver Foundation, serves on the board of Rose Academies and the Vancouver Council of Women and is a co-founder and board member of Municipal party Progress Vancouver. She currently is focused on several collaborations that address the SDGs both locally and globally using innovative solutions applying a business lens to causation.

QUEEN OF THE RING Heidi Katrina I have had the pleasure of knowing Heidi Katrina since 2019 when she was going to compete with OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) in the USA but injury put pay to that. Wrestling was not my thing at the time but after talking with Heidi and working with Al Snow and the guys at OVW for the past three years it's grown on me a little. Heidi was the first ever foreign member of the Sendai Girls Tag Team Champion alongside Cassandra Miyagi to win in Japan a first in the history of the sport. Heidi went on to win several Titles and Championships her fist being in 2015 defeating Toni storm to take the ABC Women’s Title in 2018 she teamed up with Cassandra Miyagi to take the Sendai Girls Tag Team Championships from RIOT Crown DASH Chisako & KAORU.

Heidi has dreams of working in Film and TV one day, but she has been able to follow her dreams and become a Professional Wrestler Traveling all over the World and competing in some of the most fantastic arenas they have to offer. Heidi is asked all the time who inspired you? Her reply Is always the same, in pro wrestling, Chyna. She was the first female wrestler I laid eyes on as a child she inspired me in so many ways. Dancing Queen JASMIN RITUPER JJasmin Rituper is a performing and teaching artist and a certified Yoga and Pilates, teacher. She works as a performer in dance, performance art, aerial acrobatics, circus arts, burlesque, modeling, and acting. In the teaching and creating fields, she works as a yoga, dance, and acrobatic teacher, gets hired to create dance and movement choreography for stage and on-camera work, and does catwalk and posing coaching. Jasmin was born in Salzburg, Austria, where she started to dance at the age of three in the ballet school, founded by her mother Eva Rituper Dietz, a dancer herself, who passed away in 1981. At the age of 10, Jasmin became part of the public ballet school of the Salzburg Landestheater until she graduated high school in 1998, lived and trained in Vienna for two years, and moved to Amsterdam in 2000 with a full scholarship for the Amsterdam theater school where she graduated with a B.A. in Dance and Musical Theater, four years later. After the academy, she worked with some dutch contemporary/jazz and concert dance companies, toured through the Netherlands as a dancer in a tango opera, was part of MAF (miraculous art freaks) and Movamentalist – both freelance dance and performance companies for various events in the dance and entertainment scene – dance/music festivals, company events, clubs, art exhibitions.

In 2007 Jasmin moved to New York, where she started working full-time in the entertainment field, focused first on urban dance, film, and commercial as stunts, fight choreography, and wirework double. She turned herself into a strong, wellrounded physical performer for various genres, constantly driven by passion and hunger for development and selfexpression through different ways and forms.

12 CRAZY ADVENTURE CHALLENGES IN 12 MONTHS RAISING MONEY FOR THE VETERANS FOUNDATION UK Jenny Price is the all-action hero that never stops!

Maj Jen Price has been a serving officer in the British Army for the last 10 years and is currently fundraising for the Veterans’ Foundation by attempting a series of extreme challenges in 2022!

Her solo endeavor consists of 12 multidiscipline challenges all in quick succession. The challenges include the Devizes to Westminster international canoe race, an ironman, a multistage ultramarathon, climbing the Matterhorn, Kilimanjaro, and Lands’ End to John O’Groats. None of the challenges are events she has completed before and, in total, she will cover over 2500km (not including all of the training!) and climb 2 of the 7 Summits.

So far Jen has raised £27,000, which is incredible, but her aim is to raise £100,000 so, she would love to receive any help you can offer!

So far she has successfully completed 6 of 12 challenges having just summited Kilimanjaro, with little time to spare for the next one: Ironman Vitoria Gastiez. Jen said, "the Kilimanjaro summit hike was one of the hardest things I have ever done due to the effect of altitude on my body! This is closely followed by the 29 hours of non stop paddling that took place on challenge 4, which nearly broke me!”. The Veterans’ Foundation (VF) is one of the country’s fastest-growing military charities; they work with hundreds of smaller, less well known, charities and charitable organisations across the UK that share their passion: to provide a better life for our Armed Forces family who are in need. The VF supports 5 charity hubs: combatting physical injury, family and remembrance, mental health, homelessness and poverty, care and wellbeing, education and employment. To date the VF has supported over 300 charities and has provided over £10 million in grants.
