INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATIONS Manisha Tailor MBE
Manisha Tailor, MBE, is the Assistant Head of Coaching (U9- U16) QPR Football Club, and the only person of South Asian heritage to be working as a coach in the English professional game. Manisha has a background in primary education and trained as a headteacher before embarking on a career in football. She is the founder of Swaggerlicious, an organisation that uses football and education to engage with Black, Asian, Minority groups and women, works with Show Racism the Red Card delivering antiracism workshops, and holds an advisory role as vice-chair (coaching) on the British Asians in Sport and Physical Activity board. In 2017 she received an MBE for services to football and diversity in sport.
Made an MBE for services to football and diversity in sport in 2017, Queens Park Rangers academy coach Manisha Tailor hopes to pave the way for more women from diverse backgrounds to work as coaches. Tailor feels it is "ludicrous" there are not more south Asian women working in the English game and hopes more people can "challenge their unconscious biases" to help bring about positive change in the industry.

A former primary school deputy headteacher, who began studying for her A licence badge in June, Tailor is understood to be the only south Asian woman in such a role at one of England's top 92 men's clubs. Tailor's path to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium has been varied and not without challenges. Three decades ago, aged nine, she was went on trial to Barnet with a friend and was offered a place in their youth setup, but her family said they could not take her to training while her brother played cricket for Middlesex.
It is Tailor's love for her twin brother that has inspired much of her work, as she now campaigns around mental health. Traumatised by bullies earlier in his life suffering which Tailor's family understand contributed to his illness - her brother began suffering from hallucinations and his mental health worsened. "My life experiences, particularly with my brother, have helped me to be resilient,"
Twenty two years on from her brother's initial illness, Tailor is still helping others, delivering educational programmes and campaigns around mental health through the work of her company, Swaggarlicious. And just as she has dedicated large parts of her life to helping others, she knows how much others have helped her career too. In particular, she says she would not be where she is now without the support of QPR's technical director and former manager, Chris Ramsey.

LEARNING TO BE A SURVIVOR AMBER GUYMER-HOSKING
Challenged, yet hopeful! Amber Guymer-Hosking now the age if 34 was born in Lowestoft, Suffolk. Amber Joined the British Army when she was 16 to get away from an abusive home where she had been sexually abused by her Dad for many years. Amber joined the Army Medical Corps (RAMC) as she was not allowed to deploy at 16 and had to wait till she was 18 due to Army regulations Amber spent the first two years at a UK base. Then when she turned 18 regulations allowed her to be deployed to Afghanistan in 2006/7. As an Army Medic Amber witnessed many harrowing events that involved both military personal and civilians of all nationality`s.
One of ambers greatest accomplishments in life is the birth of her son. But due to abusive circumstances Amber soon found her self faced to become a single mother with little support. She has often struggled and reached rock bottom on a few occasions, however, the one thing that kept her going was her son and the responsibility she now had.
Amber has been posted to a number of countries including Africa where she was deployed to give aid to refugees and Aid Support under the United Nations. Still suffering from Depression and PTSD Amber still managed to do her duty. Amber was finally discharged from the Army in 2016 with complex PTSD and right away found herself homeless and even sleeping in her car. After many knock back Amber reached out to Help 4 Helmless Veterans who agreed to help Amber get a property and a new start for her and her son. Amber was invited by becoming a full Ambassador by Steve Bentham-Bates from Help 4 Helmless Veterans. Since Talking with Amber over the past few months I have learned that no matter how hard gets with a little help and a lot of determination you can over come anything. Yes there is a lot more to Ambers Story and many like her that have served their country but one thing I took from the interview is Amber has a lot to give the Charity. Amber is on the right road and has recently started a new chapter in her life with a new partner.
