TABLE TALK

In this space, the top priority is to provide a beautiful space for seniors using tables that are durable and easy to clean.
✔ Table surfaces in senior living facilities should be made from durable materials that can withstand wear and tear. While wood is a popular choice, solid surface or Thermofoil tables are a great option, as they are easy to clean and maintain.
✔ Table bases should be heavy with the weight centered toward the bottom, creating a low center of gravity so the tables do not tip. Self-leveling glides may be added to most base styles.

Softer on the arms than laminate or PVC edges and solid surface tops. Allows for a high contrast between the edge of the table and the center of the table making it easier for seniors with impaired vision to see the edge of the table.
Our Corian Solid Surface and SurfCor table tops are non-porous with a smooth, seamless appearance. With proper care and maintenance, they will not promote the growth of mildew, bacteria, or mold. If scratches occur, they can be buffed out using a magic eraser or fine grit sandpaper. These tops are also highly stain resistant.
Quartz tops are superior to natural stone as they offer predictable color and never need to be sealed.
Don’t let spills end up on the floor. No spill edges can minimize the risk of a slippery floor by keeping liquids on the table top surface.
Thinscape tops are a manufactured solid surface material that has an ultra-thin profile, is incredibly strong yet lightweight, and is easy to maintain. It is also eco-friendly, meeting GreenGuard Gold Certification’s strict chemical emission limits.

Natural wood or wood grain laminates bring warmth to the room and support biophilic needs. Biophilia means incorporating nature into an indoor environment. This can be done by including things such as wood, plants, and natural light to a space. This helps people feel more relaxed and improves one’s state of mind.
